Did you figure out whether it was pressed in or threaded in? I'm assuming it's pressed, and you could tap it out in a few seconds with a $30 air hammer.

Today I ziptied the two quarter window clasps shut with two zipties a piece, in an X formation. So far I'm hearing way less rattling while driving.
Both clasps were broken and while I have the parts to fix them... I can't find them
But this is working great. No more idiots slamming my doors and the windows popping open.
Now if I could just get em to stop slamming the doors...

Wait, are they one in the same? Or are those two different people? Puncturation is impurtant.

    Two different people.
I had a feeling someone would ask that.
    How would you punctuate that?

General separator when dealing with multiples is the comma. "My father, and my best friend..."

While you could technically type that as "I call the guy my father, and my best friend" to make them one in the same, you're still using the comma as a separator to show he has two roles, vs. the previous case which is using the comma as a separator to indicate two separate people.

In that light, the comma doesn't necessarily remove all potential confusion, but I think it helps significantly.

You don't usually put a comma before an "and", but it is optional after you listed a few things.
IE: "My father, my best friend, and my sister."

    I do. You don't?

If I need to distinguish two things, I always use a comma. It's not grammatically necessary, but it indicates pause, thus enforces separation of flow.

Anyone got a good hack for a leaking slip yoke? Mine leaks right where I circled so when I grease it, it just spits out the grease and a week later I'm dealing with the thunk. I was hoping I could just replace the seal thing, but I can't find that available separately.

I was taught either way was OK in school. But I also had to go to schools in FL, TX and CA, so I got a variety of different instruction in both English and Spanish grammar that most people never had to suffer thru. But wtf else was I supposed to do, y'know?

In the context you gave above, speaking coloquially, I might've replaced the 'and' with a comma. "My dad, my best friend".

No more idiots slamming my doors and the windows popping open.

I'd be lying if I said I excelled at English. :D
I somewhat recently learned that TX is like 40th in education in the country. I knew our state public education had problems. But I didn't know we were in the top 10 worst :anonymous:

Great recommendation! I just got off the phone with them and they said that part is a dust cap not a seal. I'm going to take it and have them look at it.

Mine does the same. Grease seems to be cheaper than a fix and I look at it as self applying undercarriage anti-corrosive.

I'm a bit behind but keep seeing you struggling with the UBJ. Hopefully you have it out by now, but if not use heat. AMP torch on the spindle and the UBJ will slide right out. Just be careful that once you start heating it the grease gets hot and bubbly and can splatter.
** Haha. If I only read two more posts I would have seen you got it off. Nice!

Yup, lift is in. Heat would not have helped me. Honestly, it was maybe 8 minutes to pull the knuckle totally, under a minute to pop out the UBJ once out, then another 8 minutes to install once I got to the other side? I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Oh, and if anyone sees someone say they're going to get this Astro Tools 78197 "Goliath" ball joint press kit to use on our trucks, stop 'em. It's not worth the money. Their divoted lower receiver cup is nice and all, I may buy one of those as a replacement piece, separately. But the overall kit was worthless. It's safely back with scAmazon now, and I guess I've got to find a way to blow thru $200 in credit.

    upload_2023-9-8_15-4-1.png
I'm perplexed though. I've seen a couple of people showing what you'll see in this video around 12m20s. I tried doing essentially the same thing this dude did, but even clocked at roughtly 1 o'clock in the wheel well, I was still whacking my fender flares and couldn't clear a press.

Whelp I tried to go easy route with steering controls by using a JBL Click media remote. It came in a yesterday. I connected it to my phone while I had my Bluetooth headphones connected as well and it worked to control volume and playback no problem. Single click to play/pause, double click to go next track, triple click to restart or previous track and the volume knob turns to control volume. Great.

Today I put the JBL Click on my steering wheel but because my phone was now connected to my Carlinkit 5.0 wireless AA it doesn't control the volume. When I turn the volume knob, my phone screen shows the "media" volume being adjusted but it doesn't adjust the AA audio volume coming out of my head unit. I can still pause and change the track playing but it won't control the volume. Dang it.

The Carlinkit also isn't trouble free. My phone connects fairly quickly and works AA wirelessly but every so often the music cuts out for a brief quarter second or so. It doesn't disconnect but its still annoying. I'll deal with it for now.

The one that came on my truck was in perfect condition. I sprayed it black then gave it to @Tundra2 so he could smash into a deer.
