Speaking for myself, I've found my night vision isn't what it used to be. The LEDs give a significant improvement in lighting the way, mine are noticeably brighter. Also, if you adjust the headlights correctly you won't blind anyone.

Swapped my battery from the 31 I had to a 27F, replaced passenger airbag (still need to reset it) and installed a new headlight harness which unfortunately does not work :(

one wonders if any progress was actually made.

Methinks, from probing, that I’m actually power switched. Ooops.

Yep, worked great with the old harness. My bad for assuming we were all ground switched I guess.

My headlights were terrible. Couldn't hardly see with them. Never had issues with my daily driver though so I knew something was different. I tried cleaning my lenses with minimal improvement. Did the 100 watt upgrade with a aftermarket relay harness, still junk. Getting new housings and doing the projectors made a huge difference. I would have happily left mine alone but they just weren't cutting it.

Ever since I did my first retrofit with cheap Amazon projectors and headlights for a Nissan Frontier that I had at the time, I have been upgrading lights on my vehicles. I will look around for reviews and videos of best LEDs to use for a particular vehicle through the use of forums. Headlight Revolution has been a great resource of quality videos showing the massive improvements that lighting has made over the years. If I can get away with LED bulbs that don't create dangerous glare for other other drivers, I'll go that route and if not, I don't mind trying to retrofit a pair of lights for my own vehicles. Its easy as long as your headlights aren't sealed with Permaseal sealant. Those are a bitch to take apart and require many heating cycles at lower temps. The lights I have used on my olden Tundra though have all been sealed with butyl rubber and that stuff is easy to take apart.

I love it when my vehicles have separate high beams. This allows me to use very bright high beam LED bulbs even if they don't have razer sharp cutoff because, 1) I don't roll around in my 64 with the high beams on, 2) I love the instant on of LEDs for flashing vehicles to give them a heads up that Tundra2 took out another deer just down the road, LOL, I kid of course, and 3) during night driving, I want a wall of light out in front of me when driving home out in the sticks and there aren't any other vehicles and the only ones complaining of glare are the critters on the side of the road thinking of running out in front of me.

I remember one time my cousins turn signal switch on his El Camino stopped working. He manually switched the turn signals on and off every time he went to make a turn. Lol. No problems just solutions.

When I had my Tahoe I hated that the lows would turn off when the high beams were engaged. I get on the forums, forums are awesome, and found a how to. Using a diode, all I had to do was jam it in where the low beam relay and high beam relays were located in a specific orientation between two specific pins of the relays and boom, quad high beams. The diode would cause the high beam relay to re-energize the low beam so I had a wall of light with all 4 bulbs a burnin'! Noice!

Good time to point out @Headlight Revolution is also a Vendor on the forum. Their subforum is a bit sparse but they have been known to respond to folks on here.

I had this same problem. Thought the Tundra headlights were garbage and couldn’t understand why people online were saying they were pretty good.

turns out my drl relay was bad causing my headlights to be dim all the time.

ended up doing projectors but this may help others with dim headlights.

If you don't install them upside down they work even better. :/ I was busy with kids and parade stuff yesterday so I rushed the install; I tested mine last night and my truck looked like it was sending up searchlights. Had to turn them off so Batman didn't show up at my house.

Also, were anyone else’s headlight connectors this covered in grease? Good grief. Took me a while but I got all the external stuff off and cleaned up the four wire looms too (2 headlights and 2 side markers).

That's dielectric grease...it helps keep moisture and other schmootz off the contacts. Now that you've got it all cleaned off nicely, go buy a tube and slather it on!
