What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Pops said the way he hit the deer snapped its neck on impact. Said it's head twisted around, and he drove over it with the rear wheels. I'd shit my pants too

 

Sounds like a blessing in disguise to me. Split second of pain, shrouded fully by adrenaline and shock, then *POOF* lights out. I'd hope to at least hold my bowels until my head popped like an overripe peach though...

He needs an upgrade to a heavy gauge steel bumper with integrated brush guard.

 

Today, I changed my wiper blades and added a fire extinguisher. Its not mounted anywhere though, still trying to figure that one out.

Check out adventure trail gear, they have a decent mount for a smaller one

 

It came with a mount, but a cheap plastic mount. My main concern is where to mount it.

 

There’s is a fabric mount that uses velcro, I mounted it on the head rest of the passenger seat
It doesn’t actually velcro to the head rest, it just uses velcro in its strapping for quick release

 

Little bit of tape for extra friction, some foam tape to keep it from rattling and a clip made from a windshield wiper spring. Its held up well.

 

In the vintage Porsche community we mount them the front of the seat. Right where you need it when your luftgekuelt engine catches

 

He’s not gonna hit his head on that in case you have an emergency panic stop, is he?

 

We’re doing about 15 on a dirt road, and he’s in the dogs spot, so normally he would never be in the position if danger were to occur

Just have it screwed into the plywood on my passenger side, back wall of my AC, from the rear seat delete.

This has me thinking, maybe mount it to the front of the rear headrest. Being an access cab, the back seat never gets used anyway.

After seeing how horrible the Element extinguisher works I need to get a normal fire extinguisher. Not sure where I would mount it.

I thought I was a cool cat with my tiny Italian fire extinguisher but apparently I'm an idiot.

 

Speedo App on my phone proven easy for me. Once I know I know. done.

 

I went to Home Depot and got a 2.5 pound ABC pull-pin-squeeze-handle extinguisher. Right now, its on the rear driver side floor board. I want it on the driver side because if I need it in a hurry, I can jump out, open the rear door, and get it.

 

Living in one place a little more than 2 decades will do that to you, I guess.

 

You and Dad have a competition going? IIRC, you Dad took out a deer like the very beginning of your postings.
It's like a race to see who can auto-bag more deer. Who was driving mom's Sequoia for that event?

 

I'm trying to make this Tundra easy/comfortable to loan out to wife, my friend, eventually my kids, etc. Hence trying to make it as non-strange as possible.

 

How many is that now?
