Looks awesome. It's annoying that there seems to be so many more aftermarket light options for the DC's. I was confused when I saw this pics because I thought your truck was light brown metallic based on the picture I quoted earlier. I didn't realize it was silver. Still looks great.

Plasti dip? I'm not having great luck with the plasti dip I put on last month. It stuck to my wheels and mirrors but it's already peeling off my side steps.

They're just some regular ass Ebay aftermarket units that I did the mini h1 projector retrofit to. Haha pretty sure Ebay has the earlier model 1st gen headlights as well. Same process for the retro, but they have metal clips on the housing to remove before baking.

Sunroof and leather were options on SR5s...at least they were for 2005. My old 2005 DC SR5 had both leather seats and a sunroof.

I've never used it. I've always primed and painted chrome and plastic on my tacos. Figured I'd give it a shot

@Rheywood456 @Darkness @Casper421 @anyone else that goes off-road I may have forgotten. I already got Jon's blessing but wanted to run it by you guys as well.

    A few questions:

1)looking for honest feedback on the Toytech Boss kit. I think this may be the best package for my needs but I value any feedback you may have.
2)Is there any harm in going with the 700 lb coils even if I'm not sure that I will get a custom bumper? I figured I'd rather have them just in case rather than have to pull them off later to swap.
    3) The add-a-leaf with this kit doesn't look very robust. Am I really going to see much benefit from that?
    3) I considered saving a little money by going with OME but the coilovers are not adjustable.

I actually think it will hold up nicely on your grill. Please post some pics once you remove all the protective layers.

I did the Rustoleum peel coat on the chrome bumper strip almost 2 years ago and there's nothing more than a couple rock chips. That's worth no more prep than wiping down with acetone.

@FirstGenVol I ran a pair of Toytec long ago and they worked well. They have changed quite a bit since then, back when I ran them it was really a non-servicable Bilstein with a threaded collar and 600lb linear coils. These days I am not sure where the shock comes from or if it is serviceable.

    That said...
    1) for some minor off roading like driving on fire roads or something to that effect, they should be alright, assuming you are aware of the increased wear, service needs, and funny arm angles that come with lifting the front end.

    2) 650 and 700 are pretty close. 650 is fairly stiff compared to stock. If it were me I would only run 700 if I definitely plan on a heavy bumper, or if I had a double cab.

    3) the add a leaf is just to give a little lift. It has always baffled me how many guys want to level their truck but bother lifting the rear. To level a truck you only need to raise the front about 2". If its about adding bigger tires, a 35 will fit in the back at stock height no problem, most guys only run a 33.

    4) OME makes pretty good stuff too. A lot of guys went with them years ago, they don't seem as popular these days. Adjustability doesn't matter much, as long as the height matches what is advertised. I suppose it's nice to have if you decide at some point to change stance.

So even leveling with coilovers does weird things to the front end? What way do you have to do it to keep everything happy?

Towed a bit the past few days for 10.5 mpg city.

Road trip today yielded 17 mpg highway with 300lbs weight in truck.

In addition to the pic, go under and grease the other end of the gear cable where it connects to the transmission shift arm at the side of the transmission. Helps smooth out the shifts for sure.

Looks great. Did you just get those yellow fogs or have you had those? I could have sworn we just discussed that last week and PHM did his amateur photoshop to your truck.

I'm aware of the potential strain on the CV's. Can you elaborate on the rest?

Do you recommend I use the diff drop? I've seen conflicting opinions on this.

    1. @Toytec Lifts makes a great product at an aggressive price. Definitely can’t go wrong with their boss system. But, if you’re anything like me, you’ll eventually want bigger and better. Buy once, cry once.

    2. The ride with no weight and 700lb coils is pretty stiff compared to stock. Once I mounted 120lb of skid plates and 240lb of sliders, the ride improved greatly and is now a comfortable sporty drive. I say stick with 650’s.

    3. Depends on the condition of your oem springs. If they’re worn and tired, you won’t get as much lift. A 3 pack aal might be better option then.

    4. Can’t go wrong with OME. Very popular company with the Overland community. Tested and proven everywhere on earth.

Just a heads up, once you move out West you’ll want some go fast parts, which ain’t cheap. Give the boss kit a try and upgrade in a few years if your needs change.

Also I disabled my DTRLs today. Super easy just unplug a plug by the battery. Now I just gotta get around to the fog light anytime mod.
