That's a really nice T100. Was wondering how the sun did such a job on steering column plastics while the paint looked so good, then read the ad - new paint. lol, TX truck. Like that tweed interior too.

Nope. If I bought another tundra it would be an 05 v8 DC or 04-05 RC or AC with a 4.0 and 5 speed manual. Then supercharger...

    Added power steering fluid.

Any thoughts on missing p.s. fluid?
    2003 AC w/ 4.7l (been together ~ 1 month)
Yesterday when leaving for work I heard a new sound. Later in day, the sound was a pronounced p.s. whine. Checked fluid & the bottle was empty. 'Pretty Sure' it didn't used to be empty. Haven't seen any turf markings in the driveway (but with all this snow...). Bought a quart of fluid & a bottle of Lucas seal sweller, fluid modifier, magic liquid. Didn't even take the whole bottle of Lucas which surprised me as the noise suggested much less fluid in system.

So where did it go if not the driveway?

My current thought is a leak in a high pressure line & it's a fine spray leaking out when I'm on the road?
Or I just missed the bottle was empty from go?

    Thoughts?

Crawl under and look for leaks. Might be hard with the snow, but get under there with a flash light and look around.

Might be leaking into the boots on the rack but hasn't leaked out of there yet.

True. The 02’ drivers boot has a little in the there. Not enough to be alarmed. Reservoir level is good.

I did notice some slight leaking (few drops) around the bottom of the two hoses that feed into reservoir. Seems the tension clamps are not as effective anymore? Put some snake clamps on and this has stopped the problem.

There is another tension clamp on a ps hose just above the frame above the steering rack that looks to be having a drip. Will be adding a snake clamp there too.

I wonder if this means new steering rack time? I looked on toy parts and didn’t see that they sell these new OEM. Maybe I missed something?

My hoses look like they're leaking there too. And at the bottle. Pretty much anywhere it can. It on the list after the driveshaft. Anyone have pics or a write up on changing the rack? I saw a thread a few months back I think. The worthless search function brought back nothing. I remember hearing it's a pita I think...

I’ll look later. Seems Toyota only sells one hose going into the reservoir, but not the other? Might need to make our own.

I've heard those are better than the average reman.

The job itself doesn't seem too bad, no where near as involved as the 2nd gen trucks.

Check for wetness at the steering rack boots. Toyota racks are good for leaking out the seals on the boots and filling them with fluid

Yup. Too high to fit in the garage. Would be nice to be able to work on the truck in the garage. One day....

I’m at about 2.75”-3.00” upfront. Not 100% sure on the exact height.

Yeah lots of cutting will be coming to make clearance will at full stuff. But we will see. I may wuss out and go with 295/70/17s instead...

Well, a few things to note.

I think its 05 and 06 have slightly different spindles and lower arms to accommodate the larger lower ball joints. Those should be universal to DC or AC for those years. There are several spring variations for the front coils as well, access cab and double cab each have their own 2wd vs 4wd coils which can be identified if you know the paint codes.

The body on DC is quite stretched tall wise compared to the AC, giving it the appearance of being taller which I suppose counts. It does appear that the front fenders have larger openings on the DC than the AC, maybe adding to the "I'm bigger" look.

I wish! I can take the rack off and make it work... but even jacking the truck up inside the garage would be pretty eventful with the roof...

Probably. But lift wise we should be able to achieve the same height as a double cab. If measured from floor to frame.

Biggest functional tundra I've seen was Apimpdad's on TS forum, part truck and part submarine. He sold it eventually.
