I sore Chris(nice hands)Fix vid work on his FordMazda? truck. He snugged some bolts up in there.

Sore Timmah Toyota vid work on his 3rd Gen 4Runner with the 340F Transmission and he did a thorough job, but looked to be missing doing some snugging of bolts on that circuit board. Would like to know more about these solenoids and see some specs.

Alas. That is clean. But I’m up in Indiana. And I have an 8 foot bed. Thanks for the thought though!

Pretty sure I’ve got one lined up in Wisconsin. Just need to figure a day to go get it

Right but same frame at least. I don't think the DC has many common parts with the RC and AC. Just common styling. It's like gen 1.5 lol

It’s a sequoia with a bed is best I could put it. The body has more in common with a sequoia then a reg/acc cab

I can't help but wonder the suspension differences between the RC/AC and DC. Would be cool if the DC suspension could be swapped to ours. I know the DCs always look lifted more than ours and that Bilstein 6112s are good for the full 3 inches on a DC but only recommend to go 1 inch on a RC/AC due to the front geometry. No idea why that is.

in other news ive put about 100 miles on the truck so far. cleaned up the oil thats been leaking from the cam seals, once its back from the body shop i'll be doing the t-belt, w/p, cam seals (oh boy..) valve cover gaskets and a crank seal (why not.). May bypass the factory trans cooler and install a larger plate cooler with a russel 165 degree thermostat so i know the coolant cant get into the trans (since its a nice new used unit already)

Also going to reset the trans memory, the thing seems to not want to shift all the time into 4th and 5th.. doesnt feel mechanical. feels like an electrical issue

i dont see how the suspension setup is different. I'll have to take a closer look, the suspension should be damn near the same. its just a bigger version of the Tacoma setup

maybe the double cabs are shorter than the rc and ac trucks. wouldnt surprise me, would also explain the max lift of each

well the lower control arms, uppers, and spindles are all the same for the D/C and reg/AC trucks. so its likely just the double cabs sit lower than the RC and AC trucks

they sit higher. My ac 4x4 was like a low rider before I lifted it 3 inches and it still just sits like the height of a stock DC or modern 1500 pickup

huh. part of thats likely because of the taller roof. but the front suspension setup has all the same part numbers except for the shocks. maybe it has to do with the rear drive shafts and the length of the frame. hmmm.

I'm looking at the OME lift from low range offroad. id love to do icon like on my tacoma. but i just cant afford to do that to this truck right now lol.. i still have to finish building my frame for my taco

this tundra fell into my lap. was going to use its engine for the other frame i have that im going to do a LT build on in the future. but when i got to see this truck i knew i could fix it, lol. so now it looks like im going to have a nice new work truck. As of right now i have my 01 tacoma in pieces. a spare tacoma frame with full running gear (pulled the engine and trans from the rolled 4runner i was given) and suspension, This 05 tundra. a 06 corolla with over 700k miles and my 06 avalon. Needless to say i have a problem.. and im truely addicted to toyotas.

But after driving this tundra for a few days, i really like it. it drives like a taco, just bigger with gobs more power

I agree 100% it does drive like a bigger more powerful taco. I could never go back to a taco as a daily unless it was SC'd now lol. Hell these trucks even have similar styling to the 01-04 tacos

eh i could still daily a taco. only issue is once mines done i dont think i'll want to. lol way too much money invested into the taco to want to daily. it'll be my fun car. Tundras the new work truck. avalon still holds daily duties (power and MPG. gotta love that), The corolla is kinda just the backup car for now. lol (amazed the thing is still running like it does)

Tundra is my daily for now. But I'd like it to be my fun truck and maybe a tow pig eventually. I'm looking at buying a taco, t4r, or t100 as a DD but eventually making that DD into a crawler. I really want to buy this truck if I can get the price down some.
