Update: still yet to even get a quote from IAAI on shipping my 07, even though the truck is paid for. It has been two weeks and I'm strongly considering flying down to Arizona and limping it 17 hours home over the three day weekend. If anybody here ever even considers using IAAI, look elsewhere. Starting to wish I just shelled a few grand more and got a different rig off of copart.

MR2 has a new windshield waiting for it. Sadly I’m losing the original. BUT… the rock chip in it is large enough it didn’t like being fixed

Not too sad. Original windshield is old. You know the car has seen corrosion based on the shock towers, if my memory serves. It's a great opportunity to get the old one out, repair any corrosion that may lead to leaking OR already be leaking, and know you're good for this iteration of that car's life.

Besides, new quality glass is usually night and day. Windshields see a lot of wear and tear over the decades, and it doesn't become clear (har har) just how many microscratches are there until you get crisp new glass and it's almost like someone clearcoated the old window.... :D

The issue is the tint of the window on the OE ones is not possible to get aftermarket. Luckily I found one with the antenna wire at least. THE LAST aftermarket one

Healthcheck on fluids with my note pad.
ATF looks a hair dingey, as expected with umm... probably 12k miles.
    20230216_171634.jpg

Oil looks like the rest of our vehicles.
    20230216_171759.jpg

Both fluids taste, and smell correct. All levels correct on dipstick

Pulling the hood up I noticed I'm less one roof molding.

Okay, this is only temporary held together with tape to see how it looks. Will play with arrangement some. I'll have to wait for a much warmer day to affix them permanently.

I was just about to say, "hey! I recognize them carpets!"

My parents got the rest of them and installed on the covered porch dad built last year. Handy, durable little suckers.

We’ve got lots of that grade of carpet tiles at work! They fit perfectly in my slide out in the work truck to dampen noise with tools, a entire human could fit in there and slide under the deck I built.

I use them all over the place. Like, when the missus wanted me to finish up the gym space, three of them side-by-side are perfect fit for the weight rack. I notched a couple of them and installed at the doorway entry into from the garage to protect the floors. But at this point, I'm out of them, shy of some FLOR tiles (the ones he has are Shaw brand, I think).

They're great for working under vehicles in the dirt or on rough driveways.

Damn bro, your shaft must be huge.

I double-checked mine for leaks today since I opted not to replace washers with my tc/diffs drain-fill. Good to go. Mobil1 has been REALLY responsive with me, and are likely refunding all 4 quarts I put into the rear diff. Their tech support is actually really knowledgeable. They recommended using a slip additive to try and salvage things, but said they'd still refund in case I drain-fill again with another brand. Wouldn't recommend nay specific slip additive, but the fact they suggested it was cool.

Oh, and interestingly, they're suddenly not showing 'rear diff' as a fluid option at their website anymore! I swear when I looked previously at Lucas', Amsoil's, and Mobil1's site a couple months back, all three showed an LSD rear option.

Hey all, I’m picking up my new calipers tomorrow, any consensus on which brake fluid to use? Or is this like asking ‘what oil’? ;-)

It's mostly like which oil. Dot 3 is fine. We've had some swear up and down that Bosch 5.1 or whatever is the bees knees. My understanding is that all brake fluid is hygroscopic. Doesn't matter which rating or whatever.

Hell, before this forum I didn't even know that there was more than dot 3.

Wondering if I should buy more lithium based nlgi #2 grease or the amsoil synthetic calcium-sulfonate nlgi #2 grease.

Anyone try the latter for their chassis grease?
