Replaced the six-disc changer and factory amp with a Boss head unit to get hands free calling and Bluetooth stuff; waiting on the tailgate handle with backup camera to come in from Master Tailgaters so I Can have rearward visibility (not great with the cap). Prewired Crutchfield harness totally worth the $25.

Rear window replacement hinges came in, hope to get those in tomorrow.

BFG ATs tire codes are March of 2007.

Really got a chance to drive it for the first time since the long drive home; 4LO and 4HI engage well and no weird noises, but 4LO does have a noticeable jump between 1 and 2 gear. Drain and fill trans case fluid may be in order.

Nice. What brand is that? I assume no longer available. Saw a local listing on Craigslist with one made by Ranch Hand, also NLA for 1GTs.

It's pending, I'll let you know if it doesn't sell. I just told some dude the same thing, and he offered $200. I'm not Ebay and standby my word, those kinda people piss me off, those that offer more and those that except!

Has anyone tried to grease the little wheels that turn the heat/fan knobs? It looks like you have to pull these tabs over for the black part to slide out. Curious what lube you used.

I haven't but I would just make sure the grease you use doesn't get liquidy in the heat and start dripping everywhere this summer.

Yeah I had that assembly replaced back in 03, some sort of thick off-white grease. Just a dab of it per dial. No bending of tabs to get that out though.

IIRC, you push it back and twist downwards to pull out?

I typically use clear SuperLube grease with PTFE in it, the clear stuff, it's NGLI and food grade. Same stuff I started using when rebuilding espresso machines. You can put it pretty much anywhere, temp range is like -40 to +250 F or something.

PHM did a great write-up on how to lube the cables and gears which makes those knobs turn easier. I can find and link up if you come up short on locating it yourself. I've posted the links in a couple of vent posts here, I think if you look for my n....

Nevermind, here it is, even you replied on it :D: https://www.tundras.com/threads/vent-control-binding-solved.58386/

Yeah that’s what the plumbers use for valves and seats on faucets. It’s good stuff!

    Totally!

The stuff I use for food grade stuff, anything with rubber seals and sometimes gearing is p/n: 56204 (link)

The stuff I use for mechanical (and also OK for 'incidental' food contact) is p/n: 41160 (link)

I'm sure they have a wider array of stuff out there, and smaller/larger sizes. My bench downstairs has several tubs of grease, I've just gotten used to needing different types for different stuff.

When I worked at McDowells the ice cream machines had to be assembled with special grease from the manufacturer, pretty sure it was just rebranded super lube, I’ve still got a tube or two

I get tubes of SuperLube from my pool supply store. I had a big one from Arizona that lasted 20 years. Now I get the little tube that lasts 3-4 years.

I use dielectric grease for errythang like at. Never gave a fuck about carcinogens, nor grades really unless it's driveshaft, SPC related.

Any lube is better than no lube. Even if it's the wrong lube. Better than going in dry.

This hurts. I don't want to add up the $$ in uninstalled/unused parts I have laying around. Too painful to think about.
