What I've done to my 1st gen today: walked past it to get in my work van.

In other news, I need @Outbound to come get his damn weather back:

    Screenshot_20221222_070437_Weather.jpg

That's not counting the 20 mph wind making it feel -20 out.

Welcome to the TX panhandle! We have all 4 seasons here! Summer, super summer, winter, and super winter!

Also, my front door, which faces North, doesn't seal very well. So I have this to deal with:

    20221222_070357.jpg

    20221222_070413.jpg

It's 54 degrees in my living room. At least my beer will stay colder longer I guess...

We put Falken Wildpeaks on our 4R and really like them in all kinds of conditions (haven’t tried snow yet).

Peak fire hazard season here. Space heaters in the pumphouse, garage, and guest bathroom. Heat lamp in the 'greenhouse'. And all my waterhoses are drained and off.

I've been trying to procure a Mr Buddy heater for two days just in case we lose power. Our gas fireplace in the living room is basically useless. I ordered one from Wal-Mart for local pick up because it showed in stock. They emailed this morning and said it was not available. I can't remember ever experiencing negative wind chills while living here so this is gonna suck.

Everyone seems to love those. My only issue is they don't look that aggressive but I haven't seen them in person. What are your thoughts on that?

Yes it's a good deal and worth the drive for someone if the seller would hold it.

Can't be much better than the other weekend when I made coffee in my truck with the heater buddy going while it was starting to snow. I need a longer propane hose at least

Drives me nuts these people never list the damn cab type with these. They're different between every cab type. I get tired of messaging to ask, "What cab type?"

It was on an ‘03. So it’s AC or RC, and it doesn’t appear to be 8’ long. It’s likely an AC cover, not a DC on an AC as they never offered the DC in Thunder Grey Metallic, which is the color it appears to be. All surmission and not fact.

We usually dont drop below 25* overnight. Icepocalypse that shut everything down for a week was like 5 days of 20*.

    67394038-A1BD-465D-B50E-19529161142B.jpg

We're about to have a couple nights in the teens. If i had to guess, out of 80 houses, i bet 20 of em crack their pipes. Maybe 50 if we lose power. We're not insulated for real cold. Luckily, its supposed to warm up during the days, but also our weather forecasts are miss more than hit.

@Tundra2 the front hasnt reached me yet. Your low is lower than my low.

I’d be living underground to stay warm in -40F or have one big ass geothermal heat pump to heat my home so the heating bills aren’t insane.

Here’s the real question @Outbound, does the new 3.5L twin turbo Tundra take longer to heat up in the cab than the 4.7L?

Have you ever seen how alligators survive the cold? Basically go into hibernation and lower their body temps. That's how you survive Northern Alberta.

    And whiskey....

I haven’t paid attention to how aggressive a tread you like, or what conditions you’re hoping to run in. I run STT Coopers on my 1st gen, which are super aggressive 10 ply, heavy AF, and not what anyone would spec’ for a sand runner. But I want to run the same tires in all conditions, and they’ve been great for that. They are very heavy but Aires way down, have been fine on sand. I appreciate the extra plies for sharp turns on sharp rocks (also aired down) and because I can “huck” the truck and haven’t blown tires.

By comparison, we’ve taken the 4R, wearing Wildpeaks, into similar conditions on the same trail runs over the last 2 years… except it doesn’t get driven as fast, and we haven’t jumped it. The 4R and Wildpeaks have gotten through everything. If I were to “upgrade” the tires on my 2.5 gen, I’d do Wildpeaks.

Ordered 5 ft of both 8 and 10mm silicone hose from Amazon to replace the split rubber vacuum hoses to the charcoal canister. Electrical tape fix wasn’t cutting it.

Good news is they just installed an Amazon locker a mile away from home at the 7-11.
