Sorry guys, for being a whiney little B on this one, my fault entirely, rushing to get out on the road, didn't pay attention.

Look, Dave... I hope I'm not overstepping anything by saying this, but you just moved, you've got a business, and little ones to care for while also taking care of you. You've a lot on your plate/mind. No worries Man. This place is great to vent to. Believe me... I know that all too well.

Anyways, I'm just glad that you got it all squared away.

Did they tell you the code? 90% chance it’s just a spiral cable..

Pinching a cable can absolutely cause any number of things to happen. All you gotta do is feed power, ground, or interference somewhere it's not supposed to be and the end result can be wildly variable. Computer is a computer is a computer.

Via TS I got 2 VSC codes and probs w SRS and Cruise systems. I tagged you in that post, I think it was the lunch table thread. But, I mean, you have a busted door, kinda more of a stresser than some lights on some guys' dash a ways away. And, like my bro in law said, I've never ever been in a vehicle where the airbags deployed and I don't really intend to. So, it was just something to get dealt with before I went too long b/c kids, safety, wives, etc. And the VSC kinda had me a little concerned. Plus I needed an oil change and I really wanted a full multipoint inspection since the last one I still had valve cover gaskets.

Anyway, I'm happy that I don't have to undo the integration relay work, that was a chore. Just had to loosen a bolt and now it should be 100% good to go.

It's crazy how many different all terrain tires there are now. I've been researching different ones even though my BFG's should last at least 2-3 more years.

Speaking of that, I owe them an apology. Earlier this year I mentioned mine were showing signs of dry rot. I was wrong. I looked at them closer in the sunlight outside my garage and they are fine. It's just weirdness with the rubber and how they are made. It's not the same as the dry rot issues I had with Michelin tires on our RAV4. Michelin let me prorate their replacement under warranty.

I have no clue what tire I will get next. I wouldn't mind trying something new.

But I assume gone with the scangauge f up out of the picture. Which was entirely my fault. Pinched the odb cable replacing the integration relay. I knew wrenching in a Costco parking lot was a risk but I had to drive at night.

    new scangauge cable ordered.

I mean, I’ll take a $20 cable and $160 Toyota diag fee over a busted door any day. Count my blessings. I’m humble enough to know how easy it is to make a rookie mistake.

The abs codes shouldn’t cause an airbag light. ABS codes like that one both rears usually ends up being a bad harness on the axle

I may still ship it. Gonna sleep on it. Ordered the new cable though because the old one is just not worth using. It’s clearly compromised.

I don’t know that I really need a SG. And maybe if I do another one I go SG3. Dunno really. Glad the solution makes sense. Stoked to see shifty’s powers of deduction pass a test. Even a guy who knows not to f up can f up.

I don’t know that the SG is that important to me. I’d much rather have steering wheel audio controls.

Does anyone here bleed their brake proportioning valve?

I need to find the Russell speedbleeder equivalent part number for that one bleeder.

    Right now I have the 7mm x 1.0 x 34mm for the 13WL fronts ordered and 10mm x1.0 x 35mm for the rears.

Occams razor right? This all showed up after I swapped the integration relay. I pinched the SG2 cable. Hence some intermittent shorted pins causing chaos. My mistake entirely. No problems with the truck at all. All good once the cable is unplugged.

Only time that one really needs to be touched is if the rear lines lose their fluid for whatever reason

I mean, my ego takes a hit and so does the wallet but it’s recoverable. Glad to find a definitive root cause for the most part. Worse to not trust yourself or your gear.

Don’t take it to heart, and do trust your gear and yourself! That’s not something easily double checked. Just slow down and be tactical with your actions!

I was doing the math in my head while wrenching in the Costco parking lot. Had to get to Mr Marv after 6 and to my friend’s before 10. A fairly tight window. And not sure at all that the new part would solve the problem with my headlights. It was around 2-4pm IIRC.

mostly I was scared of breaking the truck to the point that it wouldn’t be safe to drive. All of my real tools already at the new house. Needed to safely limp home.

I debated a bunch about just hard wiring to the battery and pulling the fuse when not in use. But I figured best to try a real fix while it had a shot.

I did after I pulled my axles and swapped 3rd members.

Even though I capped the brake lines with vacuum caps to prevent it from losing too much fluid.
