Got two of my curtains hung up. Using reflective insulation/vapor barrier between fabric so you can’t see the reflective silver from the outside. Velcro to hold them on the fabric on the shell. I think they came out pretty awesome. Need to do the other two now and rehang my lights.

Finally got a chance to pull codes. Looks like maybe the fuel pump may not be the problem.

Cleared the codes and the only ones that came back were the MAF ones. Later in the week I'll dig out the meter to test the sensor and wiring.

Okay I’m F**ked here. Looks like a pinhole leak in the fuel hard line causing it to drip. Does anyone if that would be the result of hooking up the evap canister backwards for the two lines below? (I fixed them, BTW)

Any easy way to tell which side of the line it’s dripping from after it dries up?

Judging by the looks of it you’re going to need both sides. It’s rare to get those apart in one piece

Those style lines I’ve successfully cut off, flared for quick connects and replaced with nylon fuel line that has quick connects

    but you’ll need my $400
    Flaring tool

The question is whether a local repair shop would be willing to do that type of repair or require me to replace the whole line for liability reasons. I'm guessing the latter.

What's even worse is the truck can't go on a 2 post lift since the boxed section is rusted through up front. Guess I'm taking the bus to work this week so I can figure out what I can do once I go on vacation for the rest of the month.

Man I hate to say it, but it might be time to stop spending money on this truck. It doesn't even sound like the frame is safe anymore.

Very nice, I just finished curtains for all 4 of my topper windows. I had to redo them because I used velcro as you did here, but after a few times pulling the curtains off the velcro eventually ripped off of my curtains where I had sown them on :/ Hope this does not happen to you!

The frames rotted that bad? It may be time to move on if financially you can.

It’s not too bad actually. The outer C-channel is still in great condition. It’s the inner overlapping one that’s in poor shape.

It’s hard to say actually. As I stated a second ago in another post…well let me just take a photo. Be right back.

    The outer c-channel
    038A9866-2A76-4CE4-9141-510DB33B3007.jpg

    The inner overlap area
    0BB3D8AA-E982-4952-8387-DF65249E7C3E.jpg

Still strong enough on the outer portion, but the inner portion could punch through somewhat.

The black box goes to the solonoid looking thing on the intake manifold, straight hose goes to a metal crossover tube to the intake tube.
    425D6A61-754D-496D-A7AD-9B8F15C840D8.jpg

thats what the diagram shows, but theres an extra pipe and a 2000 might have that solonoid thing in a different spot.

Is the upper part of the rail rotted? That’s considerable rot.

It’s thinned out quite a bit from the inside of the rail rusting but just on the inner overlapping c-section like I said.

I know it hurts because you've had that truck since new, but I wouldn't spend another dime on that truck. You're just gonna keep dumping money into something that is on borrowed time.

Sell that thing and go buy a newer Tundra like you talked about before.

It could still be fixed. That’s really the only bad part on the frame along with the other side.

Looks like it may be leaking at the connection and not the hard line. I’ll have to check it again Tuesday when I’m off.

Big fuel line means big fuel pump. Big pump means big injectors, and big injectors means e85. And e85 means boost.

Now I know what Dan means by that $400 hydraulic fitting tool. I'm not sure if many shops will do this but I guess it can't hurt to ask.

He has a gaping hole in the frame. He's now having to deal with rusted out fuel lines. Even if he fixes the frame he's going to constantly be dealing with other parts that need replacement due to rust. Then every winter the salt eats away more and more.

Seems like a losing battle at this point unless he is able to stop driving it in the winter and completely restore the rotted areas. Is it possible? Yes. Does it make sense financially??
