I'm still laughing when I watch this little guy dance. He looks just like a 50 y.o. ranchero at a rodeo dance.

Confirmed the new fogs lamps are very nice with a nightime drive. The more powerful lumens fill in the dead zone (from bumper to headlight projection start zone) with a daytime type light much better than the halogen fogs. They even project light behind each side of the truck behind the front windshield plane !(out 20 ft. radius plane)! The majority of the front fog beam is projected below the bumper/assy lens center and evenly distrubed out and down and to the sides (and even some wrap around) as it should be. No scatter that blinds on coming traffic as sometimes reported with OEM reflector lens. A nice even bright daytime fill. So stoked.

These really give me that side to side outward projection light that blows me skirt. A great investment if you are considering them.

Learned something new today about the 02’ Tundra. It has a transmission temperature warning light if your tranny oil overheats.

Its never activated on me with towing/hauling. The 02’ has the OEM tow package.

The wheels are Method made for the Tundra. I got them at Tire Rack as they were 10% off.

How did you learn about the warning light?
I'd like to get a trans temp gauge.

I had a few minutes while waiting in the truck, so I popped open the operators manual. Read it on page 96? All the warning lights descriptions are there.

I’ve had a few instances during hot summers when towing with some weight in stop and go traffic and wondered if things were being overexerted. Guess not because the warning never lit up.

Think I’ve solved the ‘clunk clunk’ sound problem, in my mind at least. Got to thinking about how some of the silencer pads are missing on the rear leaf springs. Did a search on purchasing them. Read the reviews and many said they had ‘clunk clunk’ on slow turns at an angle and this fixed!

Its the cheap and easy solution that if it doesn’t work then move to plan B. Think I’ll look for some composite plastic shims (used for doors) at big box and jack up the rear and wedge just the tip in there with flexible adhesive on one side so the leafs can still flex and slide as designed.

Can’t see spending $30 on 8 plastic washers when shims tips will do. This will save me from buying new rear springs and doing DREADED suspension work... hopefully.

There is a hole, but I’d probably cut the tab off and just slide the washer part in between the leafs if using those. I do not need the tab, but used those as a reference. I’ll use these shims with adhesive caulk on one side (the side up on the larger leaf so the lower leaf can still slide).

IMG_20190220_151214_01_01.jpg Sold my 2001 Tacoma prerunner. Got a great return on it. Loved this truck but am loving the tundra even more. Needed tires on the front of the truck and wanted a little bigger. Didn't want to work on leveling... Yet. Also wanted 4ply tire that is lighter because this is currently my daily driver. Local tire salesman had Ironman all country at 265/75/16 for very cheap. I liked the look of the tire. More aggressive than the street tires I had on it. Now to see how they hold up. I am very pleased with the ride smooth and zero roar. Used them in 4wheel drive when I got into some mud last week and they did incredibly well.

I'd prefer driving a V6 with stick over a v8 auto personally. I noticed the same about the shifter length. I think maybe they just took the Tacoma transmission the way it was and threw it in the way it was for the Tundra.

V6 at that price is high. Seems the selling point, a good one, is the 4.30 gear.

Its 4x2 (you don’t mind). Manual transmission (fun for a while) makes my right shoulder arthritis hurt just thinking about it.

    $4-5k tops.

    I don't know how I missed that it's a 2x4. Doh!

Edit: I still see the ad says 4WD. Did I miss a photo showing otherwise? Anyway, I liked that guy's "voice" in the ad. I hope he sells to someone who gets all the right use from that truck!
