To finish the saga of splitting logs. I know it doesnt have anything to do with my tundra.

I didn't do this today, but I built a firewood rack for my truck and then went out and used it. Truck did great with the weight. Definitely compressed the leafs a bit, but handled great. I'm looking into some sumo springs but have to make them work with my U-bolt flip.
Now I have to get the wood split before the snow flies Friday night.

As another person who heats only with wood, I can't recommend the Fiskar's splitting maul enough. (Also their axe is amazing)

I concur. I have a little over 2 years on mine. I've only been through a couple cords of wood with it, but its been holding up. I've whacked it a few times on the handle, but it's solid core plastic best I can tell, so you won't have the same bullshit with wood splitting up that I'm seeing on your current one. It was spendy though, IMO. One of those 'pay for what you get' things.

805 or elate or someone has a manifold that runs a cobra eaton, but it wouldnt be too difficult to adapt an eaton from a gm 3.8. But like a gt27 turbo? At the same 6psi. Maybe a t3 with alot of bypass, so its only fed low boost.

@empty_lord do you have a pinout for the connectors on the back of an 86 radio? For S&G, I picked one up, with the HK add-on module, I'm happy with my Alpine but thought I may throw some cycles at this too, just for OEM+ shits n giggles. At worst, I guess I'm down -$125 from the truck slush fund.

ah didnt see that, mb. Anybody know where I can get a 1.9 crank pulley to make a little more boost? Pretty much at the limit of current power. Also looking into putting m112 rotors in my m90 like we used to on those GM 3.8s.

Duralast battery went kaput. I'm past the 3 year free replacement period. I still had my AGM battery from my Ford truck. Threw the charger on it and it's working just fine. The Tundra isn't complaining. I'm not paying $200 for a replacement Duralast unless the AGM gives up. Noice.

Shifty's going backwards with this OEM crap and here I am thinking I might go forwards to a halo or Pioneer floater to get a bigger screen (mostly for the backup camera). Hah, two roads diverged in a yellow wood...

I was considering the sony floating one before I did the 86 one. Wider but wouldn't block the vents.

For some reason I'm not sure how much I need A/C where I live now. It just has not been hot like San Diego hot was. I guess I should do a full winter before I make any plans but I'm thinking seat heat is a bigger priority than AC performance.

Family (wife's side). Her sis is 10 minutes away and has 2 kids really close in age to ours. We spend all vacations together anyway and they get along really well so it made sense to gather the extended family. An aunt is in Olympia so close enough to drive and the brother lives just north of Seattle and rolls through all the time for horse stuff. The only one further away is her dad who we saw a lot more b/c of their Palm Desert house. My wife's HQ is in Boston so no big deal for that, and my job, well, it's just strange. The SD office has maybe 5-10 people in it and isn't really coming back to life post pandemic, HQ is now Miami and the NY and London offices are the important ones. It was very different 5 years ago, San Diego was the headquarters back then.

To a lesser degree the new house has about double the interior space and the lot is 0.6 acres vs 4000 sq ft, plus it's a dead end street with a 200m circle right off our driveway and other kids close in age on the circle. We micro-targeted down to the street, I really like the nearby trail system and the lake and river views for running. So far the weather has been really great, cold but great.

The only thing I really dislike about this house is the driveway, it's steep and short and it really sucks. I had a few ideas of maybe trying to do a half circle to decrease the grade but I don't think any of that makes sense. The one thing I still cling to as far as hope is a shop on the side of the current garage. It seems like that wouldn't break the bank if it's possible to fit within the setbacks, just a slab, extend the roof, some framing, a few windows, basic electrical, maybe a tiny bit of plumbing, and an electric meter to relocate. It would be so nice to have a work space where I could have a vehicle in pieces for an extended period of time. Then we could consistently park 2-3 vehicles in the current garage.

TLDR: I have a tough time answering the "why", I think the most truthful answer is "not really sure."

Should be a prorated warranty after the initial free replacement period. Can't hurt to swing by and ask about it.

Hopefully this job won’t require the torch. Was bending some steel rod for another project. Won’t be doing this today, but all the parts came in.

That's what I thought. I need to do both front wheel bearings on crackie. Not squeaking, not squealing, not getting dusty, just feels crunchy when you spin it by hand.

If I could find some new tome junkyard spindles thats what I'd do first. Maybe the updated spindles with beefier lower ball joints.
