Ordered some suspension maxx tie rod ends and an air lift setup for the rear suspension. I'm pretty kick ass at the ordering part, its getting the stuff installed that seems to take forever.

Under the dash, loosen the nut on the switch, turn the switch till the lights hopefully turn off, tighten lock nut and test operation

That reminds me, I got gas yesterday and got a pic of the @Mr.bee magnet set up.

    20221013_173305.jpg

I went 286.9 miles and got 23.946 gallons for a total of 11.98 MPG. That's uncorrected for the 33s. How do you do that again?

That's because the cops like to wait until you get a second offense for something else and then tell you to not complain or they'll write you up for the brake lights as well.

For the old mans truck. Still need to do the rear shocks, bags, and new end links. Then it needs a good alignment. I think I'm going to run the garbage front axles until they cry for help.

for 33's, you'd add 11.9%. So 286.9 miles X 1.119 = your actual miles traveled, then divide that by your 23.946 gallons

Fun fact. My 2001 4.7l 4wd beat the shit out of my annoying coworkers 2008 chevy avalanche 5.3 2wd. He was talking crap about how my Toyota is slow (it is, and I don't care because its ultra reliable). The only thing he had going for his chevy was its supposed to be faster. Well I beat the shit out of that slow poke chevy

Went for a ride today and pretty sure I found where some crackhead has been dumping stuff, including a motorcycle helmet. It was in decent shape. Maybe I should go back and get it and wash the liner. Seems nasty though. Is HJC a cheap helmet?

    IMG_20221014_142214248_HDR.jpg

Went back to my garage and finished assembling my hitch hauler. I will definitely need some practice strapping it down. Need to find that post by @des2mtn . It will take a 2nd person holding it while I strap it down. Not sure how that will work if I go ride alone somewhere.

Put your neck on the seat, and lean it towards you, weight on your shoulders, and lifting with your legs.

or lean it towards the truck using your gloves as padding.

Since theres no engine brake, like leaving it in gear, is there a way to lock a brake on?

I was gonna say, sometimes the rubber bumper for the switch disintegrates.

Happened on some of my other vehicles. Quick easy fix is a generic rubber bumper from Ace hardware that was the right size.

@FirstGenVol, could you tie a rope off on the garage door opener or something, and attach the rope to the handlebars?

Doesn't necessarily have to hold the entire weight of the bike. Just has to keep it level while you strap it down.

There's got to be another way similarto what @Mr.bee said so you can do it in the field.

Maybe carry a large cushion to lean the bike against the tailgate while you start strapping it down?

Or figure out a way to do it while holding it with one hand. IE: preset length on your ratchet straps so you can clip the hook(s) in and crank on them with one hand.

Bungee, and hook the bungee to your camper latch to hold the bike up while you tie it down.

You are correct, I punched in 245/70/16. Some 1st gens came with 245's, some with 265's. I always refer to a tool I found here . punch in both tire sizes, and the % difference (diameter or circumference-same value) is what you add to odometer miles traveled, to get actual miles traveled. It's also the same % used to calculate speedo data vs. actual speed.
Bullocks, no need for a second person. I've loaded real motorcycles on carriers like those. All you have to do, is have a strap preset in the right location and at the right length, so when you roll her up there, you simply hook the bars with the strap, and let the bike fall towards you until the strap is taut. Then you can attach your hitch straps, and adjust as needed. I probably didn't do the best job of explaining this, but it's super simple.

Pfffff. My 91 SHO will easily outrun my 02 tundra. Like, handily. And it's 220hp from the factory. Maybe 200hp now. TRUCKS ARENT MADE TO GO FAST. Dammit pucks, ya done pissed me off. Stop posting stupid ass shit. I was glad you came back but remembered real quick that you're a fucking moron. Either post some dank memes, contribute to the knowledge, or lurk. Your rants about 1st gens make me cringe. Dude, we have great trucks, but they aren't THAT great. Compare my 91 SHO vs my gf's 15 SHO. It's gonna lose in every metric. Would I still take the 91? Absofuckingloutley. Same with our trucks. They're great for what they were, and we love them for that, but in modern day standards they suck.

That being said, I just dumped $7k into mine so don't try and come at me with some "you ain't a true 1st gen owner" shit.
