Anyone running an under seat sub under their front seats? 2.75” height should clear I imagine?

Curious, what's the intent? Tactile transducer ("bass shaker", ala Aura, Buttkicker) could maybe fill the need?

I'm coming up empty trying to think of any shallow-mount sub that would fit and allow you to wrap an enclosure around it. Shy of making the floor of the truck as the bottom of the enclosure and gluing the walls to the floor at least, but you still need to account for 1/2" MDF top of enclosure, the rim of the sub, etc. Sub would need to have overall height from magnet to basket of ~2".

Says it’s the same depth ish as the JBL fuse I’m looking at. Only un powered sub I can find. My little Rockford will run it and the door speakers happily

Yea, ealier this year I pulled a 1 year Denso and replaced it with a full Aluminum Champion. No blockage on 1 year old denso. The Champion has about 9 months so I doubt it has any blockage (I carefully looked at it already) plus no blockage on condenser that I can see (maybe some where I can't see). Will have to take a temp gun on it soon. Also to note, I can't remember this AC temps when I had the Denso. But I know it runs cooler (ECT) with the Champion even without my fan shroud on (another thing I need to put back on).

Strange that they don't have one there. Maybe it's somewhere else

I used to run my old Alpine under there for a while. Wasn’t too helpful since the SPL of the Alpine speakers were like 93 dB so it wasn’t much of a noticeable difference unless the music was cranked.

Mine is a bench seat though.

grasping here but since Sequoia is so Tundra, Any chance the gasket where the steering column passes through the fire-wall is shot?
Low speeds, hot engine air getting in, at speed airflow kinda skips over the opening?
    Long shot, but WTH.

Yeah that stuff doesn’t bother me too much although it kind of surprises me this happens all the time and the manufacturer doesn’t put in a few extra cents of cardboard to protect the tabs from puncturing through the package.

I think the manuf'er expects the warehouse to do the right thing and box their product.

It's not the OEM's responsibility to put their product in a bulletproof packaging. It's the shipper that's responsible to ensure the OEM box is properly protected.

I find it hard to believe any manufacturer would be so 'in the dark' as to how their products are packaged and shipped. Especially getting returns and complaints. Seems like 'maker' would send someone over to 'shipper' to straighten things out in a hurry, as it would cost profit loss, no? Don't most manufacturers package their own products in the factory where they're made anyways? I'm not in that business and just thinkin out loud

Manufacturers package them adequately enough to get stacked on a pallet and shipped off to a distributor. Not necessarily for a lone box to be punted through a warehouse.

And THAT is the biggest problem with 3PL .... They cut the prices to get the business BUT DO NOT push on the CSR end...o_O:mad: We receive packages weekly that look like they have been subject to the "Gorilla test" :curls:

Sadly , the more a package is "touched" the more it can be damaged ; builder, packaging, delivery to shipper and then again to the customer....

Con's essential oil boxes can look like they were used in an off-road course

while my pressure washer can be delivered right side up looking like it came off the showrooom floor :confused::confused::confused::confused:

As a small business we like too personally deliver Con's Books or Art Work but during "season" I can direct drop from the Printer to our stores throughout Florida and packaging depends on which "Printer" has availability to

meet that deadline; most use in -house help while others 3PL and when books get bent or torn, we lose out...

I'm set up to where I will package her Art Work and use USPS because their systems work ,from tracking to signature deliveries ...

Rant over BUT if any of you find a "Better way" PLEASE pass it on !!! Every advantage a business can gain means more $$$$ :anonymous:

Funny you mention this. I sent @w666 my spare 130A alternator last Wednesday, USPS 2-day priority. Handed it off to my super-awesome carrier, whom I've known for more than a decade, know his family, etc. I can always trust him to get stuff there.

Usually USPS will process my boxes overnight. I hand off to Greg in the afternoon, he takes back to the sorting facility when dropping off the truck, and it gets scanned in about 7-13 hours later, between 1am-7am. Only ... Thursday came, no scan-in. Friday came, no scan-in. Saturday came, our expected delivery day, no scan-in. Fortunately, this morning, it finally got scanned in.

I almost exclusively use USPS these days. Too many issues with FedEx losing and trashing stuff. UPS is great, I always know where the package is, but up until recently, that came at a 10-20% premium cost, and if anything gets damaged, you're SOL, all claims denied as 'insufficient packing' unless a UPS agent packed it.

I think the inherent issue is caused by BS shipping behavior, corner-cutting, cost-cutting at the warehouse. Reality is, the failures rarely come back to bite warehouses in the ass. It gets transferred to the business, courier, or customer. And in our new online world where 3PL is used extensively, that's a problem.

Whew. My wallet is a bit lighter now. I got tired of the ranchos and also noticed my rear shocks are looking a bit tired.

Threw on some Bilstein 5100's to level out the front and had the new socks & shoes thrown on. Pro Comp 51s 16x8 + BF Goodrich KO2 A/T 285 75r16
Future plan is to get some new coils and throw in an extra leaf or somethin along those lines to get a bit more lift so that the new 285s aren't so cramped. Thankfully the shop did some decent work on the trimming so i'm not experiencing any rubbing on the road.

Unfortunately I did not take into account that the calipers would not clear the new wheels, so ended up buying some spacers from the shop I was at. Even MORE unfortunate was the fact that they only had 2" spacers in stock, so the tires are sticking out a lil TOO far for my liking. But just ordered some Spidertrax 1.25" spacers that should hopefully be here soon so that I can swap them out and have a somewhat normal looking truck :annoyed:

Still got a lot of work to do, including finding some better fender flares since i'm not a fan of the thin chrome ones that are currently on it. Need to get her tinted too, this Bakersfield heat is a bit killer.

    First Gen Offroad.

It's more expensive since I added 700lb springs and assembly with new top hats + isolators.
It includes bilstein 5160 remote reservoir rear shocks.

And that pre-assembly, man, that's $160-250 depending where you go. But it saves a hell of a lot of bullshit hassle a lot of folks don't want to deal with.

But yeah, fronts, rears, assembly, heavier duty springs, preassembly, and all the other stuff, that's a solid price. Icon 2.0 kit with shipping I couldn't find a buck belw $1700, and after tax + ship, $2k.

Looks solid. Stock coils on that? 2nd notch on the 5100s?

I was contemplating, if I went for new shoes, going 16 for more tire meat.

Thanks mang. Yeah still stock coils for now. It's actually on the top notch, which thankfully is doable since i have the 4x2 access cab.

I've always been a fan of more tire meat personally, i'm sure you wouldn't regret it. 16s with 285s has always been my go-to combo.
