Id probably just get rid of the flimsy skid plate if its getting in the way. I have the recovery points as well and they work great.

I just realized I got shipped a passenger side LCA when it was supposed to be a driver's side LCA. Bag indicates passenger side (RK630435) while re-boxed sticker and delivery email indicates driver's side (RK630434).

I'll wait till I get tomorrow's shipment. Let's hope they shipped the driver's side instead of the passenger side so that two wrongs will make a right.

If not, the good part is, at least you have one in authentic packaging, and you can send it back to be replaced left and right!

Maybe take a hammer to part of the skid to make it work?

And then they conveniently discard my note on the account that I made them aware of the fact I never received the retail box….”no refund for you!”

I've never had Summit Racing screw me over and I've bought (not exaggerating) tens of thousands of dollars in parts from them over the last 20+ years. I'm actually really surprised to hear you got non-OEM packaging. But I assure you, if you called them - as you probably should just to notify them - they'll make it right.

Just be up front with them: "Look, I'm a little concerned. First, this was the wrong part, the for the wrong side of the truck. Second, this didn't come in OEM packaging and that has me feeling uneasy."

If you already did that and had some weird experience, I'd like to hear about it. Maybe they changed, but that's totally out of character from the 'norm'.

I was worried about that but mine came right out. Though they may have been unplugged when the frame was replaced so they were already loosened up.

I looked at mine yesterday evening and one of the brackets that busted is gone... I suppose I need to add a new grill to the to do list.

Took the truck to get smogged. Three tests and a little over four years and the Magnaflow cat is still doing its job.

Evacd and recharged freon to specs. Still not cold enough at idle. ECT seems to be steady at 88-90 C. I'm guessing compressor is going out or condenser is semi plugged.

Fins are good, no blockage. Fans are good and operating normal. No bubbles in sight glass. Pressures are normal low and high side per FSM. Only thing that my buddy noted was condenser felt hotter than normal. Lowest temp inside cabin was measured at 50 F. While driving still reaches 40-42 F. Warmer than normal ECT is now normal based on my buddy (32 year Master Tech.) Plus my 18 years of experience as a tech. I'm starting to get frustrated with this AC system.

Did you guys actually weigh the charge in or go by pressures? With these small systems I hate guessing, I will always weight it in. Last weekend I did 19oz out of the max 20oz I think, she’s nice and frosty, but I haven’t measured vent temps with a proper bead probe yet.

I'll ask just for shits n giggles, wouldn't be something stupid like blend door failure, actuator fail, or control fail?

I'm not as familiar with the Sequoia, I know the dash control is different, I've never driven one before and don't know how it all works. I'd assume the stuff up in the dash is relatively similar though.

No, because blend door works fine, no codes un AC system either. I mean it's possible without codes. Even a slightly open blend door but the thing is once above 15 MPH its ice cold and works perfect.

Do they have a filter drier? Our DC don’t have a replaceable drier(that I can find)

I thought the 1st gens all shared the same AC layout minus the Sequoias rear AC unit. The Sequoias dryer is up front passenger side.

Got my 2nd control arm in from Summit Racing. Now I have 2 passenger side control arms.

Shipping box has large hole in it along with retail box. Some minor damage to the control arm as well. Why is it nobody does a good job protecting the tabs on the control arm in shipment? Had this same issue with my first pair shipped to me from Rockauto.

I’ll have to call Monday to hopefully resolve this matter.

Tundras with a center console connecting to the dash, have air to back seats. The ducts run thru there.

Up front near the firewall or up front after the condenser? Yeah mine doesn’t have one:(
To test the filter drier take a inlet and outlet temp, it should be within a few degrees of each other, clamp style or bead probe taped on will get you the best reading.

Correct. But the general layout, AC compressor, condenser, dryer, lines, pressure switch, etc. Are all pretty much the same

Spent an hour with Summit Racing texting my experience. Looks like they’ll send me the driver’s side LCA and are also sending me a return label for the damaged one. The saga continues…

I was going to say, hit their website and open a chat session. But I guess texting works too.

I guess everyone is having warehouse issues right now? What the hell?

Ditto on this. I don't know if it started to slowly happen after TRW Federal-Mogul bought them out (via Cooper acquisition) or what, but quality has degraded over the last decade or so.

Infrared temp gun on the condenser and radiator? At idle and hopping out after driving it?

My radiator fins had some blockage I couldn't see until I pulled it (middle of radiator). I had higher than normal temps and A/C that was getting warm at idle. Had yours out recently?
