Scraped a fender backing into a covered parking spot pole and either broke or discovered broken access cab window latches. It has not been a positive-direction day for my new-to-me Tundra. At least they are super minor problems - nobody would notice the scrape if I didn't tell them, and $9 on Ebay will fix the window latches better than new. Other than that I incessantly cruised craigslist looking for a camper shell and wrote a post here asking about bed rail systems.

Installed seat covers. I am a mechanic and cloth seats are my nemesis.

If you bought them from the same seller I did. Re-use your old roll pins in the new latches. The ones he provides are the wrong diameter.

I probably did order from the same seller: he mentions in the product description that if his don't fit to drill out the holes larger. I assumed this wasn't a bad idea since apparently the ones he sends are metal and I guess the existing ones are plastic? But I'll take your advice over a random Ebay seller.

Ordered these SEMA wheels today. Hopefully I'll have them installed within a couple weeks. God bless the USA. Local dealership here in Canadistan wanted $350 CDN pesos per wheel. These came to $1058 CDN pesos. Estimate $130 duty/taxes, and I'm still saving $400+.

The problem is that the pin he provides is to small for the latch itself. The OEM pin is to big for the hinge he sells. Drilling out the provided hinge is a perfect fit as the hinge and latch are now snug and no rattle.

Or you could get some steel rims for 300 dollars and they look just as good and perform off-road perfectly

Yeah...no. They don't look as good. Not by a long shot. Especially since I've never seen any with the same style.

My truck is pretty low mileage and babied. Its not exactly a beater despite its age. I dont mind having the high end stuff on it. If it had double the mileage and actually had rust...then I'd cheap out.

I bought these for my Mercedes. Super fuckin bright! I recomend them.
They are (error free) also My Car freaks out if you put a different bulb in.

    Size 194.
I had to use diffrent one in the dvd player / Dome light.
They are (polarity dependent) so if it doesnt work take it out and flip it 180.

Most would rather have alloy instead of heavier steel. How do steel wheels perform perfectly off-road?

I got a single in and single out . Dumped infront of the rear axle. Still have the resonator on it .
    Sounds good.

I'm trying to find a squeak right now. Sounds like a little bird chirping under the truck right now when I hit bumps

I Grease the rear springs and replaced the carrier bearing. It's still there.....

Dude!!!!! Me too!!! I took my oldest son to his Dr. today and heard it going over the harsh speed bumps in the parking lot. Got it on both sides, sounds like in the front wheel/shock/control arm area.

Might be the rear shocks from what I'm reading. I'll know when I change them out.
I have sprayed almost everything under the truck. People on another forum said they had the chirp coming from the top of the rear shock. I'll spray it tonight

I used to have a squeak in the back. I found out it was the back wall of my bed was slightly bowed in. It was just enough to rub on the back of the cab when going over bumps. I pulled the back wall out about a quarter inch and the sound went way.

Got the new muffler installed today. Had to enlist The Woman for a second set of paws, but I got 'er in. No more drone, nice and quiet. Super happy about that. I went with the NAPA Quiet Flow SS muffler.

I'm considering Plasti-Dipping my chrome mirror caps black. Not sure if I'll get around to that today though.

If you beat me to it, let me know if you took the caps off or left them on the truck. From the bit of reading I've done, the caps look like a pain to take off and there's a fairly high risk of breaking the tabs. I'm thinking of taping off the cap, and covering up the immediate area of the truck from overspray then doing the Plasti-Dip without removing them

I'm really glad my truck came color matched. No chrome. But, my front bumper was replaced (carfax states accident) well it was not prepped correctly and the paints all fruity and peeling. Pisses me off every time I see it. Got a quote to get it stripped, prepped RIGHT and repainted. That's happening, hopefully, this summer/fall.

Installed an Airaid jr cold air intake. It uses the stock box with a high flow dry filter and smoother more direct tube. I also removed the restrictive charcoal filter from the lid of the stock box. Not sure what gains I got since I have no dyno test, but throttle response is definitely a bit better. I think it was a nice addition to my exhaust setup. I'm pretty happy with it.
