DIY Emblem Delete. They were trying to charge me $400.00 . Did it with less then $50.00 of materials and a few hours. Did the side emblems as well.

I dunno, now all I see are the waves, ripples, and dings in the tailgate :D

But that may also just be what's reflecting off the clearcoat.

It's the reflection. Tailgate and paint is in great shape. Still need a back up cam tho.

Seems like folks are just trying to get away with charging as much as they can nowadays.

New drive belt. Was getting squealing at times in the dead of winter but it went away so just got to it now. Checked all the pulleys and they seem fine. Two or three have a tiny bit of play but spin smoothly and without noise so I’m calling them good for now.

Belt I pulled off was unbranded and had a bunch of small cracks in the ribs:

Lol looking at this photo now I kind of want to pull it out and orient the text in my direction. Please tell me I’m insane.

Belt wasn't hard, but still some squeal? Did tensioners seem fine? Did you spin all the pulleys to make sure bearings weren't going bad?

Now you got me all paranoid. I guess I'm glad I didn't show any text when I did mine.

My old one was fine. If anyone needs a good Delco 2UZ-FE belt with maybe 1k miles on it, pay the cheap ass ride and it's yours.

FWIW, it looks like Delco makes the Gates belt or vice-versa.

Finally got around to starting to POR 15 some of the rusty areas under my truck. Did the rear axle last weekend. Got worried about the fact that i painted over the fill and drain plugs but luckily they both cracked loose. Re-torqued and good to go. Did get a little paint on my arm, guess itll be there for a few weeks, haha.

Probably gonna paint my LCAs this coming weekend.

They get to looking old so fast and prefer the HD green belts. Pretty sure this was done during last alternator swap, but the Delco belt was looking brown. When I pulled it out, it was supple, no cracks. Pretty sure it went in with the previous alternator, which would've been like 1k-2k miles ago? Maybe 3k ago. But hardly any use. Didn't realize it until I looked at the invoice for when the factory alternator caught fire. I still need to get rid of the 2k(ish) mile 100A alternator and brand spanking new 130A alternator I've got laying around taking up space.

It evens out the exhaust pressure and helps with pulses of the exhaust gasses, kinda like a expansion chamber on a 2 stroke

So with a v8, there is significant variation between sides through the cycle?

It was mostly sarcasm. I say mostly cause I would have thought about it prior to installation, but likely wouldn’t have changed it if I noticed after. I’m function over form most of the time.

Crossplane V8 engines greatly benefit from x pipes unlike most engines.

X and H pipes balance the pressure pulses increasing flow and scavenging. Hp and torque increases are modest. Exhaust will be a little louder and perhaps a bit raspy. Placement seems to usually be more fit than science. Hot rodders been doing since the start of V8s

I had a cross pipe on my 77 Jimmy 350cc, but it was also a drive shaft catch, in case of a joint failure, lol.

X pipe on a modern v6 is good for abit more power. it benefits all engines. but all my largest gains have been with a v8.

no real point on an inline 4 unless you have 2 banks. anything more than that.. i havent played with

    Hahaha I was wondering!
Clearly he’s a master at his craft! Did he make the xpipe? All of it looks good, and I bet you’ll be very pleased! That mid range is a kick in the pants and it sounds/feels great. When vvti hits you can kinda feel it more, but ur def pulls hard thru 3-4k

i think my tundra might be one of the cheapest things to ever set a tire in his shop. LOL rx7 getting a full cage, an audi A7 getting a full exhaust, his 1000+ hp evo, his tesla swapped evo. all that was in the shop when i dropped it off.

The cross over from driver to passenger was the hardest to keep high, because of the drive shaft, but since it has the carrier bearing, I just put lots of weight on the drive shaft and left a finger(fat finger) amount of gap between the two; lots of off roading and heavy flexing, I have never made contact.
And flanges at the cats for removal? Or only at the headers x cats
