I was just reading up that they were popular as German taxis back in the day. You’d probably have better luck going to Germany and having parts stripped off an existing block in a salvage yard and shipped back home. I can definitely see that as being a challenge to find here.

They’re not common their either. Most parts pop up from eastern bloc or Middle East. But shipping kills all those deals chrrently

Got it. My wheels get decon'd pretty regularly but they where basically the same when I got the truck as they are today.probably cleaner. Been tossing around the idea of new wheels after discount tire basically helped drain the batteries on my tps sensors. I haven't went down the rabbit hole of options in -12 offset land. Or whatever other hell needs to be to fit my truck.

I've always sprung for ceramics on my older cars. I don't know what happened with this one musta forgot. If I'm getting new rotors may as well just do it then. One rabbit hole on best options at a time lol.

Lights look good. I need some smoked corners for mine as well. I retrofitted smoked headlights but I need to replace my corners with smoked units. I hate that I can't find a decent quality set without having to get all four pieces. I also wanted to show y'all the awesome cutoff shown on these headlights at the Pro Tuning Lab website.......being shown on a 2018 WRX!!?!?!?! WTF??? LMAO

I saw this yesterday and see you still haven’t gotten any love so I looked it up in the factory service manual. The only thing I found about replacing the ECM (Toyota also calls it an ECU), was simply that. It just says “replace the ECU” with no mention of programming.

What DTC codes are you getting? If you don’t have a scanner, most auto parts stores will scan you for free.

I just looked those up. Not a bad price for a set. Are they set up to where you can use a projector if you wanted? Kinda looks that way from the pictures.

Those pictures advertising the "Cutoff with projector" are images for the add on LED bulbs not the housing themselves. Its pretty sleezy Merchandising for sure, those images have nothing to do with the housing being purchased.

Silly question for those of you without functioning low fuel lights, did you replace your dash lighting? And if you did, did you replace the low fuel light with an LED?

I replaced most of my dash lights with LED. Left an incandescent in that one since its got variable voltage / brightness. No luck though.

I think it's time to upgrade my dash lights to LED. The drive light is now out along with the low gear light.

Where's everyone's goto for buying LED dash lights around here? Any particular vendor better than others?

I think the cream of the crop is really with Sylvania, but it's expensive and you can't get in some of the sizes you need. A lot of folks here buy from VLEDS.com or superbrightleds.com but maybe this thread gives you more ideas.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/led-interior-lights.20735/

And here's the handy dandy chart:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/1st-gen-tundras-info-dump.52214/#post-1393021

I need to replace update my center dash lights and I've been dragging my heels even though it's not difficult work. I'm pretty sure my climate controls have a light out on the temperature control, top-middle of it where the blue and red are 50/50 is dim as hell.

I used superbrightled for my HVAC/dash lighting. They're doing great.
The biggurrl LEDs I put in the dome & map lights are holding up well.
The biggurrl LEDs I put in the cargo light are shot to shit and need to be replaced.
I don't remember if I installed LEDs in the cluster or if the 06 has LEDs from the factory.

'05-06 gauge/instrument cluster is LED from the factory on nearly all lights (I feel like 1, 2 or 3 lights may not be? Like fuel light or something?)

I wish I'd have taken pictures of the rear of my center dash while out so I had a visual of what bulbs to buy and what's involved. Hindsight 20/20.

Yup. Dug back through my pics archive, sadly all I have is a picture of my spare black (non-wood) center dash piece I swapped out. I should probably sell this damn thing.

I think the bulbs plug into the back of the white cover for the climate controls which is unbolted in this pic.

I need replacement labels for the dials. Someone needs to make some.. Would be even better if they could do them in metal.

Also, wondering how feasible it might be to remove the clock and do up a replacement trim for that as well. Ideas abound!

I was thinking about that when I posted my mint old bezel and cupholders for sale in the 1st gen marketplace.

I hadn't realized it before, but I clearly see my translucent clock cover has no cutout for the VSC/traction control button to the left of the 4HI/LO buttons, but clearly there's a place to mount it. I can't tell what kind of adhesive is used to mount that translucent clock cover on, I'd be curious to see if a heat gun would help finesse that cover off without warping or damaging anything.....

For a fellow Misfits fan, I’m happy to help. Here’s the diagram you seek: https://www.tundras.com/threads/instrument-panel-led-conversion.94162/

And FWIW, here’s the rear of my 2001 AC cluster, if that helps at all:

And if you’re changing out the cluster back lights, especially if changing colors, you’ll need to change this T5 in addition to the T10s to avoid shadowing.

Ah, I meant the back of the dash bezel. My '06 gauge cluster is LEDs directly on the PCB, I can't swap the lights.

And as much of a douche ass pussy as Glenn is, I've pretty much liked everything from Misfits/Samhain/Danzig up through the '90s. I haven't listened to much in the last couple of decades, and as things got deeper and deeper into his solo stuff it started sounding more and more the same.

Tracking with you on all. Gone deep back into the Samhain catalog myself lately - lots of gems there.

Sorry the photo didn’t help. Sounds like the 06 is a little (lot) more complicated. Good luck. :headbang:
