I agree with Nick's take on this one. But Bill, you're saying the part inside wasn't Denso/Toyota labeled? I've heard that with other things, or at least one other thing, the carrier bearing, which I think is spicer, and possibly with gears.

Thanks for this! During a truck bath I noticed the cowl was loose. Thought of you.

Koyo is the OEM bearing for Toyota.

Well, I believe I have the Icon 3 leaf progressive pack and I left my overload spring. It gave me around 1.5'' of lift in the rear. It's not a rougher ride at all, but I do have a canopy and various tools in the bed.

Late update but finally pit some real miles on the truck after doing the DD injectors/plugs/manifold cleanout with starter.

Just shy of 1000 miles, My MPG went from a previous very consistent 13.5ish to 15.5-16.9 on the last 3 tanks (varying highway). Undoubtedly because it holds gears better and such which was unbelievably noticable going accross the mountains and some long steep grades.

Worth the maintenance/ upgrade for sure.

Put the overload back. That'll give you lift in the rear. I installed mine with the overload in, no problem. If you cut down the U bolts you might have to buy new ones that'll be long enough.

Finally got some good wifi so I'm catching up here.

EVERYBODY who has ucas and coilovers should do this. You should also turn your wheel lock to lock and repeat to see how all that works out. Good job taking the time for homework, it saves a lot of trouble later.
It might depend what hitch. I have the Toyota one and didn't mess with it.

I was scratching my head on that one and chalked it up to maybe AC/DC. I swapped springs twice and shackles once and never pulled the hitch.

Well, the good news is I got the starter out. “F” that thing. The bad news is that I pulled the wire out of the knock sensor connector…
I tried re-pinning the connector and I think I’m going to have to give it a try and see if it works.
Worst case, I can replace it later. And now I know I can get the plenum out of the truck in less than 40 minutes. Stupid, weak, flimsy ass wiring!

Thinking that I should go the ospho route since I grease rubbed my frame? Or I may have made things harder for either product application. I just wanna don't right and 1 time. I'm not sure how the hell I'm gonna get the grease off totally for either application...

Anyone ever had a failed throttle motor?, I think the magnetic clutch wont engage as the motor runs whenever it has battery power?

So far it seems to be working. I buttoned everything back up, connected the battery and winced as I cranked it. Hope it lasts for at least another 200k miles.

**** Scratch that. DTC shows P0330. Damnit!!

Got a quick question for you all…so obviously my tires are a bit loud but whenever I go around a gradual right hand curve they quiet down and seem smoother. More noticeable at higher speeds. No steering shake at all. Could this be an alignment issue? Balance issue? Or worse? Or nothing?

I'll keep that one in mind. I probably have stippled a few if I knew it's meaning.

Curious what that below wire is....the stippled wire ?

Are those new tires or could it be a tire wear issue?

They are pretty new, maybe 6k miles on them. It is the weirdest thing. I would LOVE them if they were as quiet on the right hand curves. I just want to make sure there isn't something else i might be missing.

Weird. Seems to me tire noise is generally from tires. I've heard of tires getting both louder and quieter with wear. Haven't heard the turn thing. Have you put the fronts to the back since you got them?

It is definitely odd, I am taking the truck in to get another alignment in a couple months after the suspension is completely done settling. I will ask them to rotate and rebalance and see if that helps. It might be a tire thing which is fine with me, just wanted to make sure it isn't something more serious.

You sure it's a tire issue and not a wheel bearing issue?

I don't think it its a wheel bearing issue but not possitive at the moment, no squealing or growling with sharp turns. At the moment just gets quieter on slight gradual turns to the right, mainly around curves.

Every wheel bearing I've had go out started out as just overall louder road noise and a hey where'd that noise go in a curve.

Not saying it's 100 percent your issue but if was tires I'd expect it on both sides

For sure, it isn't side specific at the moment. just quieter in the cab. the rest of the time it just sounds like loud knobby tires, but who knows it could be.
