Just break it in properly. You will be surprised how hot the diff gets after the first 10 miles - can barely touch it. 800 miles in a and a couple of changes on mine and now it's only warm after a long drive.

Gears went for REM a couple of weeks ago. So maybe less of a concern for me? Not sure. Not like I’ve driven the Tundra in months anyway.

I don't know the break - in with REM, but sounds like it's way less. Drive it easy for a while regardless and short distances initially in town. If that rear end is hot to the touch, it's not time for a road trip. I could probably put my cheek on mine now.

I think my truck originally lived somewhere in the Northwest, but it’s pretty spotless and won’t be growing anything down here

The brand is called TYC. I usually go to RockAuto for stuff like this, and when I see TYC has something I’m looking at I go with them. Always quality

Rerouted the intercooler piping on the drivers side so it no longer hangs under the truck.

Finally got around to finishing front diff oil. Fresh 1.2 qts of synthetic oil and new plugs/washers. Been longer than I care to admit since I changed the front last knowing it would be a pain. Old oil didn't look too bad actually.

I soaked the bottles in hot water for a bit. Used a hose and funnel and poured in warm fluid from inside engine compartment (up near battery). Worked slick! Quick, no mess, no pumping. Can finally knock this one off the to-do list.

Might anyone have an interior color code chart for our 1st Gen's? I've searched to no avail...
Mine is FF11 which I'm certain in light gray but the carpet being a tan-ish has me second guessing (or maybe it just needs to be cleaned?!?

That's what I'm seeing also; just can't tie it to a color code. I'd love to see the oak interior if anyone has this color..

    Thanks

Do a search for “brochure” in the 1st gen section. Someone posted the earlier brochures with the interiors pics.
