It was a TSB back in the day to correct a whining steering pump. This was passed on to cruiserdan (Ih8mud retired parts god) from a Toyota field technical specialist. Mainly the silicone that helps to my understanding.

Okay, I've had my truck over 20 years now. This is the first time I'm hearing about this and I've been complaining about my steering pump whine for a while now.

Please list said TSB No. because I don't believe it and I have all the TSBs (at least for 02).

Yeah I need to see some proof on this one... Feel like we're getting punked.

On the subject, I'm guessing there are vehicle specific solutions to this problem from Lucas oil or the likes. I think I'll try some of those first.

I believe it was a TSB for the Land Cruiser. Just google ih8mud fabric softener, and you will see plenty of threads on it and reports of it working. On said threads there are plenty of reports of the stop leak and other crap not working. Did it to mine yesterday, haven't heard the whine today when I drove her to work and the CPA (F***). To be fair though, mine was not loud yet. I will pop the hood tonight when it's cold and fire it up to see if I can hear it. Should have made a video of the sound beforehand

Been riding around without my wheels' center caps. They kept falling off when I hit bumps. I remembered ordering them but forgot where I put them. Today I found them while looking for something else. Now I have center caps again. Nice.

Damn. I need to clean and polish these damn wheels.

Changed rear window belt moulding. Should've bought front too in hindsight. Weird curved over lap piece broke when drying a week or so ago. Caught on towel and I didn't notice. Seems like a funnel to door interior for water when that's gone.

Hey is this little rubber part separate? Do you happen to have the part number? The one on my passenger side rear door is missing. Thanks.

See if Serra of Decatur is still having their sale. I just bought parts and saved more than I spent.

Hit up @Roman for the correct part, but buy it from him if you use his time. Otherwise, you can send an email to whoever you are purchasing from and they can get the correct part number.

When I did mine last yr on my 04, that piece was part of the Door Window Belt Weatherstrip (Left, Rear) - Toyota (75740-0C022). Thought I had pics of new parts but the below is my old pieces. If one zooms in, it shows that piece. Of course, your 05 may be different.

I try to buy from my local dealer who does the online parts store and has good prices and service. But I should be more aware of sales through other dealers, especially for more expensive items. Like the full front suspension job I'm going to be doing on sequoia soon...

Serra Toyota of Decatur AL was participating too, but add in no tax.

The two pieces you got, that's the outer metal trim strip with the felted rubber "wipe"?

Just curious. I got two for my AC truck last year. But I've been thinking long and hard about either replacing the front driver/passenger door window tracks just to get new, supple felted track slides to help alleviate window rattle when it's 2" or less open.

Actually, I wish someone made replacement felted rubber tracks for the rear slider and the front doors. That would be awesome.

you mean felted as in the inside? the little curved overlapping piece is plastic. I thought it'd be more a pliable rubber...Yeah, the rear window would be awesome to make not rattle when it's down some.

It still pisses me off that Toyota has continued to make window trim while discontinuing parts like the master cylinder and brake booster.

I think it's every full sized window that rattles.

I'm fairly certain it's the track felts that hold it firm, and as they age, they don't apply the same level of pressure against the window pane, allowing it to rattle.

I realize the door and window design is different between for DC trucks compared to AC/RC trucks which share the same general setup, but I think they share the common issue that Toyota used the same rubber/felt track insulators on both models' tracks. I know my rear slider suffers also, the lower and upper track felts are more open, and when the window is half-slid open or more, rattles on bumps.

PHM showed one method to fix, which involved drilling a new lower hole for one of the tracks and tucking it in, so the track line is more narrow at the bottom, applying more side pressure to the glass. I think for the fronts you may be able to accomplish the same using padding (adding felt) to the pinch point inside triangular wing the rear view mirror creates.

But more than anything, really, I wish someone made a friggin' kit (quality one, hopefully) to re-felt all the tracks on our trucks.

Something like this, but not exactly this. I was thinking more along the lines of straight-up rubber, with the inner channel totally felted.
