Basically any rub? That’s all I’m worried about. I don’t like using my frame as a steering stop. It just leads to rust lol

I didn't notice any rub. I wasn't looking for it but I think I would have noticed. I'll lock it up tomorrow and see how she looks.

@txagg the Dewill stud remover here looks like it'd handle your issue with valve cover bolts...

Haha! After welding a nut didn't work, I went full mangle and drilled her out. Will post pics soon. Oven cleaner, and then washing with dawn and hot water after did the trick and they cleaned up like new.

Yeah, I really wish I'd have had the xtra time to hit mine with oven cleaner. The only thing that sucks about not having enough extra vehicles.

Heres a picture of them after they were cleaned up

    IMG_3155.jpg IMG_3154.jpg

What little bit of discoloration you see is from flash rusting. I cleaned it up with some vinegar after I took this. You can see my mangle work on the tabs, pretty shameful. I started to give the tops of the covers a good cleaning, but decided that would make the rest of the motor look bad. Trying to be more inclusive

I honestly don't understand the purpose. You hafta hammer them in to get them to stay, and the spark plug tubes would keep them in place.

Couple months back while on a trip to SC to see family, in particular my 7 yr grn son birthday, I had an intermittent P0420, catalytic converter is not functioning efficiently. Wasn't too concerned given I really did not suspect CAT's given it was coming and going. I had also ran close to empty, filling up at a questionable cheap gas place son pulled into. Truck ran great during trip and heading home(approx. 500miles)
Since trip I have off and on researched, viewed videos, tested etc....temp differences front to back of Bank 1 Cat checked good, no noticeable leaks and simply suspected weak rear O2s even tho I changed them 2 yrs ago. I have not checked with NAPA where I bought initially about the Denso's they sold me but I can not find thru searches what the below O2s are for(help me out @Shifty). In any case, after monitoring Innova before change extensibly and after changing them all to OEM from Toyota Cool Springs, the rear is now straight lining like it should and not looking weak and erratic like the previous installed.

@BubbaW thats a great result. I've had weird luck with cats that most people wouldn't agree with on the 420 code. On my GTI I had previously changed the downstream sensor, then got the 420 a year later. I decided to try the upstream, figuring what the heck, spend a little on the sensor because if I have to buy a new cat I may as well use new sensors on it. The code cleared. I assume the upstream may have been getting bad readings and throwing off the results.

Same happened with my wifes Element. I thought the upstream is just for air/fuel ratio and the downstream is for the cat. Seems like the downstream depends on the upstream for its baseline to measure from.

I'm done with the rabbit hole of AF/O2 sensors so don't come along wanting me redo my thinking :eek2: ;)
Seriously, all the reading and Utoobs I watched, tells me simply that our rears are making sure that our CATs are not seeing too much pollutants so them folks on the left coast are happy campers :) and that the ECM does not use them to adj/alter fuel trim. Rears are simply dumb assholes causing me to be approx $200 poor.

Of the many videos watched, the 2 below were very enlightening, especially the Toyota Master Tech....

True, but I'd rather spend $200 on sensors than have to replace cats.

I cannot find proof of either of these O2 sensors existing. And I tried all of the following iterations:

    4214012C05
    42140-12C05
    12C0542140
    12C05-42140

    4213008C14
    42130-08C14
    08C1442130
    08C14-42130

And then flipflopped the two for another 8 combinations. Literally comes back to nothing. I couldn't even find a supersession anywhere.

Got the rest of the truck put back together from the valve cover job. She fired right up, was smoking a little and smelled like oil burning. Guess it will be a couple of days before I know the verdict. Noticed a lot of the emission hoses are split on the ends, so that's probably my next job. Added a spoon of downy fabric softener to the PS reservoir, should fix the faint whine.

I installed a new dash cam today. My old cheap one started acting up. I went with the same one we have in the RAV4.

I have spent the last few minutes searching why would add anyone add fabric softener to the brake system, NADA....WTF..

I'll bite, WHY??? Maybe the added viscosity helps dampen a failing part?

ALL my rides have a DashCam! I wouldn't go anywhere without one. So far they have saved my ass three times. I use a BlackVue DR590X-2CH in the Kia, and a Garmin in the truck. Simply a GREAT INVESTMENT!

Here's a clip of what happened to me a few days ago. I posted it on "Dashcam Lessons" on YouTube!
I'm getting into the Left Turn Lane, when this Weasel pops out in front of me thru 2 lanes of stopped traffic...
