I drove the truck this morning after the LCA bushing replacement with poly bushings from Daystar and it may be too soon to report; but the nagging wheel vibration between 60-70 has finally disappeared! I had the tires balanced and road forced balanced by multiple shops, the worn OEM bushings may have been the culprit all along???

My truck handles like a sports car after replacing every bushing in the front end. It’s actually kind of scary how little effort I have to put into steering bigger tires than before.

    Those look nice.

But The main reason switching from my Discoverer ATPs is for a more aggressive tire

Changed the Ol’ (oil) today. Round hea we call it Ol’. Getting to finally use my Toy Filters.

Ol’ had 2,400 miles on it and the reason for changing was this article about switching to full synthetic for the first time. Basically, the synthetic oil cleans the gunk pretty well and clogs the filter with the debris. Mechanic says to change filter at 1,500 miles due to filter clog possibility.

    http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/122

Did notice some seepage around the oil pan gasket (factory fipg) see lowest pic. Will keep eye on things and may switch back to Syn Blend if becomes problematic on this second syn oil change.

Coincidentally, I saw a guy yesterday complain about seepage from this same filter. Maybe it's a problem with the filter not the synthetic???

I have the same filter on mine since the purge 10 days ago or so. I'll take a look this weekend.

The removed filter was a Mobil1 and was loose(er) than when installed a few months ago. Guess it loosened a bit? It had some seepage from being loose. Not much.

The new Toy filter had some seepage just on the drive home today and it was tight on there. Will test more tomorrow after I wiped it clean to be double sure. Tomorrows drive will tell a story about these Toy filters. Thanks for the heads up.

The actually seepage that has my attention is around the lower oil drain pan seal below the engine. Nothing but a wipe of the rag seep and no drops on driveway in the 3-4 months since the last change.

I’m pretty happy lol. I bought it sight unseen. He made it sound way worse than it was. Apparently the damage is from rolling at 70mph. But I don’t see it being that fast.. hell I’ve seen trucks roll doing 20 with way more damage

I’ll probably attempt building one. Lol factory Toyota bumper is expensive. Aftermarket I’ve had back luck with.
But first I have to get the front end sorted out before I worry about the rear

To help the front springs settle a little, I mounted up the front and oil pan skid plates today. I’ll mount the other two when I have more time.

Better tire size for these trucks I think. Same diameter but .75 inches skinnier.

I'm doing a few minor repairs to my 2002 (a la PHM) and one of them is to replace a bad door jamb switch. But Amazon doesn't have the Wells SW1856 in stock, and the only other place I can find them right now is Autozone - but they want $61 a piece. Not going to do that. Anyone know of any other more reasonable options for door switches?

285/75/r16 is purrfect! You just upgraded by going smaller. Cheaper than a re-gear!

I've thought about that a lot. Shame that BFG stopped producing that tire in mass and only produces it in Jeep sizes. Curious what weight rating they have.

All the ones I have seen so far are the E load not LT version I think the e load weighs about 4-5lbs more per tire

Been doing research on Toyota coolant today. I just don't believe that the average Valvoline, Meineke, Pep Boys etc stock genuine Toyota coolant. I have to assume there are millions of Toyota vehicles operating fine with other brands of coolant.

Found the spec sheet for Aisin's coolant. Confirmed it's Ethylene-Glycol just like the manual says we can run. I'm convinced it's the same formula as Toyota's for half the price. Hell, Aisin designed it specifically for Toyota vehicles and they are affiliated(or owned?) by Toyota.

Both have Ethylene and Diethylene Glycol.

I use a Zerex pink coolant from NAPA which is designed for Toyota's and have never had an issue.

Well boyz. I took the day off because I can’t stand my boss (I’m a self employed semi retired hand model). Decided to tackle 12 hole fuel injector upgrade job.

Que: Bob Marleys ‘Sun is Shining’ lyrics...

Sun was shining, my happy feet were moving.

Started to unbutton the driver side and the battle level with the injector rail was richter at every step. Tried multiple attack points. Nothing is easy about this job. Finally retreated when the 3rd of 4 injector clips wouldn’t detach. Tried patiently and thats when the loose bowels kicked in. Cold sweats followed. The clouds moved in. So, I buttoned everything back up and test drove the truck to test for leaks and everything runs like normal. So close yet so far away as I was 90% there on the driver side.

We’ll consider this a tactical retreat for now. Defenses were probed. New strategies in development.

Key word ‘equivalent’. My mechanics, when they replaced the 02’ radiator, used ‘equivalent’ yellow stuff. They specialize in Toyota/Nissan.
