I'm sure she got some new scratches today but I bet most will buff out. The best thing about white is that scratches aren't real obvious.

This is how it was during the ice storm. Everything was leaned over or snapped.

Nice job bud. We have the same wide angle fish eye view, but it's good for a lot.
I've been thinking about my front bumper for weeks - how to take a bit of the high clearance pre-runner look away. I don't have a rock crawler or a long travel setup. I was going to try bend (have someone bend) 1.5-1.75 tube, but that will never happen, I can't get 3/4 EMT to bend where I want. I also though about mitering and welding tube into bends - the reality of that is a shit ton of work for who knows results.
I'm going to try a plate and straight tube combo - I'm either a genius or you can laugh at me later. I was going to do it today, but my wife said, "fix the dishwasher or find me a dishwasher." So I took care of that. I did buy the steel tube I wanted though. Wish me luck.

I had ~ 8" of snow yesterday...sucks. I hate the snow! Yeah, it's pretty at first, but then all the morons appear in their SUVs acting is if they are somehow immune to the laws of physics.

The good news, however, is it provided me with the first real opportunity to test my 4WD since I got my truck. I went out early before the plows or the morons appeared, and it was glorious! I felt as if I could go anywhere!

After my first leaf spring change, my friend convinced me to do a little backyard offroading. This included driving in and out of a 8' deep ditch with ~40degree angles in and out. The grass was wet and muddy and I was on worn street tires. The truck didn't even slip. Just point and shoot. I was super impressed.

As I'm sure you're aware, 4WD can provide a false sense of security. Rubber and ice don't work together regardless how many wheels you have driving you forward.

Many a time I made it through by being cautious in a two wheel drive truck where others in a 4WD were reckless because they allowed themselves to think "4wd means I'm safe, right?"

Snow is only fun until you remember that your undercarriage is caked with salt brine and snow and you will need a couple passes with a pressure washer to get that crap off.

I was oblivious to that in my first year of ownership when it was new.

No real salt brine here during the big snows. The road dept here in KY uses most of their budget for brining roads, and what not. Then it doesn't do shit!

Finally once they quit paying attention, and quit brining the roads it will come a damn monsoon of snow.

Kinda like the boy who cried wolf.

I call snow white mud. If you ever catch me somewhere where it’s snowing it was an accident. Too many days working in that stuff in Fort Mac in Canada.

I know our humidity sucks down here but heat is uncomfortable, cold hurts.

Checking out the damage from pop's most recent deer. I can't find any... so I guess it's good. Another win for my $200 deer guard. That makes by my count at least 8 times that it's saved this truck.

Single-stage paint is a blessing and curse. Pain in the ass if you let it get to chalky state, but whether chalk or scratches, it just buffs right out, until there's no paint left to buff :D

How about you just replace that tire? :D

Sorry to hear about mom and bro. I think you said it hammered your sister pretty hard? How's she pulling through at this point?

I believe it was me who youre referring to that had the issue with skid row plates and my V6. The trans skid did not fit at all, and the Transfer case skid needed me to drill 2 extra holes in my frame but it ended up fitting just fine. So I was able to get 3 out of 4 of the skid plates to fit on my truck.

Edit: Another heads up about the skid row skids. The hole for the front skid plate for the oil to drain is on the wrong side for our V6 trucks. I told SkidRow about this and I believe they said they would make buyers aware that this was an issue with the V6 trucks. My fix was to get a Fumoto valve and run a tube to drain my oil, otherwise youll just be emptying your oil into your skid plate.

For the moment I’m envious of you southerners and the snow. Took this picture camping with the boy and the Tundra up in Pinkham Notch yesterday. Barely enough snow to cover the ground, skiing is thin!

This bumper mod wasn’t the original plan, but for a simplistic tweak, it is working for me. Kind of a skeleton / pre-runner vibe. Wife called it edgy.

I really need to order a new seat belt buckle before they discontinue them. My seat belt light flashes sometimes even when I'm buckled up and the passenger seat is empty.
