So, cambergs and fox, huh. A little overkill for a black truck, right?

I can see those JBA headers you installed years back aren't so pretty anymore. Ceramic coating might a better choice next time round.

I used to go off road before work became life

To be fair I ripped them out while doing suspension work, meant to put them back in the next weekend and didn't bother. For Fox it does help since I had to relocate the resi on each side. I also ripped out the windshield washer resi.

The metal isn't bad, its not rust. They turned brownish after a few months but haven't gotten worse. Visually it just isn't pretty.

Was looking over my new to me 2000 Tundra, and noticed the Coil's are not factory or Denso. The good news is they look new, bad news is I would rather have old OEM or Denso's. Upon further inspection, I noticed all the harness wires going to the coil's are in no way covered. Anybody have a picture of what they should look like? Does Toyota make a cover set or is this a build your own situation?

@Sirfive Awesome! Thanks for the picture. That stuff kind of looks like the covers you heat up over a soldered wire. The way the ends closest to the coils looks, they must not be there for heat protection. Just to keep them from getting snagged. If I can't find a way to match the factory looks, I'll just go with braided sleeving

Yea, loose shrinkwrap. And i havent had any problems with the wires, but the emission hose rubbers are suspect.

.Looks like the left/driver needs to come down a smidge, but the rotation on it looks better now.

I guess that was a question…is it a best practice to have one step or two? I’ve got more LEDs to swap out tonight (trying for green LEDs on the center console again. One more shot before I give up). I also wanted to wire loom the retro harness. I’ll see if I can get both of those things done later.

Pulled my other tacoma wheel out of the bed of the solver truck since it's now tail gate less. Bummer. Guess being flat for 30 minutes busted a band inside.

Guess I need tires for the Tundra soon too. The other steel wheel will have to keep chooglin till payday

Installed Toyota upper ball joints today. My crappy HF tool did not have enough reach/room and Auto Zone didn’t have a tool so I cut the studs off and then was able to easily press the joints out. Install was tedious dueto space but not too bad. I did this on the truck, lower ball joint connected.
I have now installed new coil overs, upper and lower ball joints and cv axles all at different times. Not recommended but I am really good at tearing this sucker down:)

I was taught the departure line of the driver should always align with the entry line of the passenger. In that light, it looks like your driver fixture is aiming about 1" too high at its target, whereas it should appear like one cohesive line with two peaks.

Was I taught right? I dunno. It also looks like both are aimed too high, but I can't tell how far from the garage door your truck is, and I don't see tape marks to gauge the height.

What I did was aim at my door and level the lights. Took a ride and looked at light output which was great. Then I pull up behind cars at traffic lights. If I’m not lighting up their interior I’m ok.

it looks high because my driveway is on an angle so the level is fine side to side but the height is all jacked up. I drove around this evening and it was overall too low I think. I did fix the 1” difference and brought the driver down, but now I think I need both up 2” or so.

I am def. Not lighting up the interiors right now. I need to come up a bit because the beam isn’t throwing enough down the road.

I also tried new green LEDs tonight and I don’t love them. Did the wire loom. That worked well. Replaced a blown led in the front (the little 194). I’ll play around with it more tomorrow.
