It was time for new shoes. Over 4 years old and 60k on them. Just in time for the snow.20211209_122443.jpg20211215_163937.jpg20211212_151135.jpg

Looking for suggestions on how to temporarily relocate the wiring harness in my way of cutting to rear shock nut off with a Sawzall.

Underneath the frame channel there are plastic tabs to squeeze in but trying to do it is another story. I feel like I'll mangle them before they pop out and I won't get it back in when I'm done.

Should I cut off the electrical tape and attempt to tape it back when I'm done?

I probably have extras of those. And I want to get more. I’ll ask the team where we can locate them. I’d do flathead and pop it now. Zip ties will work to reattach if the nub is toast.

    Johnny suggested these?

Can you unbolt the seat & remove it, perhaps allowing you to remove the door panel with grace?

Got the retros installed. Wiring harness needs to be re-run in a more permanent way. Still had to use the LED restistor box on the input to get the high beams to illuminate the light on the gauge cluster. Leveled everything quickly and going to go for a test drive. Nice clean cutoff and nice high beams. The driver side has a bit of something going on with the horizontal angle...still need to mess around with that, perhaps. I think it looks good. I went with the Apollo 2.0 shroud, which is big and clean, without looking too bug-eyed.

Your driver side projector needs a little left rotation to be as level as the passenger side projector. Otherwise they look great.

Mcgard makes a more 'squared style' spline drive with a washer type conical seat. I run them on a couple cars.

Way better than the usual gorilla style tuner lugs that are spline drive.

Of course they're 1.5-2x more expensive.

How bad of an idea is completely removing the inner fender liners?

Wind noise and dirty door jambs?

Water into your intake? Pretty sure that happened to someone here. I had a small hole from trimming too much for my Brute Force bumper. I patched it with a milk jug and zip ties then painted it black.

I feel bad about trimming theses so i can drive around without the bumper until i figure out what i wanna do. Most JY trucks are bj failures so the inner liners are diddled.

I've not had on my Taco for as long as I can remember. I was always fearful of water getting into intake but even with a k&n (with prefilter) ive not had issues even being in rainy, wet-ass Portland.

Only one way to find out....

Might be able to trim in 1 cut, and patch back if necessary. Still a chance i get a cheap chrome bumper, but not likely.

These trucks have inner fenders?

I ripped mine out 10 years ago. No problem but I don't do water crossings.

There we go. Thats all need to hear. Take em out and put em somewhere safe, just in case…. Are my flares gonna get wobbly?

i need to bite the bullet. I’ll never need more than a bumper and a fender to take this ‘opportunity’. That deer stole the stigma of altering grandpa’s truck.
