Anybody know how the rear defrost works without the lines in the window?

Is there a vent behind the back seat maybe? Do you actually have a rear defrost feature/button/doodad?

It's gotta be from a vent somewhere around the window frame then.

I'm guessing your rear window was replaced at some point for one without the defroster. Here's what the manual says.

Yup, even better, I need that on my truck, love that you hung the fogs/driving lights close to the stock position, she looks really good.

Do you have an access cab or double cab? I was under the assumption only the double cab with a window that rolls down has the defroster. Access cabs with a sliding rear window do not. My Access Cab only has side view mirror defroster.

Sounds about right. The damnedest thing is the light still works and I swear my rear window defrosts. Maybe I'm just ceazy. I didn't know it also did the mirrors. That's cool lol but if the rear window was replaced, I'm glad they kept the power slider glass

No mine is not powered. I do have a buddy with an 06 access cab Limited with the sliding rear window. I know his does not have the electric defrosting lines in the window. So if there is a defroster maybe it is air blown.

So get this crap, I went to Toyota today to grab 4 quarts of OEM ATF and the lady brings out Federated Auto Parts ATF. I told her I wanted Toyota stuff and she said they don't use Toyota OEM fluid at the dealershipo_O

Must be different on the 05-06 5 speeds. My manual says Toyota WS ATF. I picked up 4 qts, but have yet to do a drain and refill.

They don’t carry the spec’d 90w for our rear differentials either. In fact, its impossible to find anywhere. Closest thing is Lucas 80w-90 which works nicely.

I just go by what the manual says. Mine is a four speed. Made By Eaton? Aisin? Collaboration?

Same thing goes in the power steering reservoir. DEXIII.

That's what I'm thinking. Which makes me wonder how to remove the rear seats.

I've never remove the back seat. But it is something I've been thinking about checking out. I would like to see if there's any place to store things behind it and if it can be converted to fold down.

Yes. That's what I want to know and how to remove it. I noticed there's anchor points between the rear seats and the rear glass.

The 02’ has four bolts and (two or four?) brackets accessed by raising the bottom seat cushions up to access the lower storage compartments. 10mm bolts. Lift assy up after removing bolts to release the seat backs off of hook brackets mounted behind upper seat backs.

Haven’t done mine but thats the research and observations made.

Yeah if you want to go drool over some really nice rock crawlers and 4x4 riggs that's the place to go. I don't think there's a better shop to go to for quality fabrication. Are they going to weld your spindle gussets?

05-06 is a different transmission. To further complicate matters 03-04 uses the same transmission as 00-02 but specs Toyota Genuine ATF Type T−IV.

I knew that, but I'm surprised Toyota specs different fluid.
