Probably the hardest one in the whole truck to replace, and e forwarned, it only works when the key is in ACC/IGN/RUN. I guess Toyota thought we'd never need a glove box light when the car isn't running. Bummer, eh?

New mod, run a constant to a momentary switch that powers when the glove box opens. :)

Yeah I've tried like 10 different xgauges. So it must be that my firmware is like 5 years out of date

Simple 5-pin Bosch relay hooked into the glovebox door plunger would be an easy hack ....

Went to move it from the street to the drive way. Kick the parking brake and nothing, no resistance, no clicking. Sweet. Its fighting with my GTI for attention, that little bastard is leaking coolant. I was hoping to work on the bug after Halloween but the jealousy had kicked in.

Hey guys! I’m a new member to the 1st gen tundras! I currently have the 2.5 and 1st gen as of yesterday.

it’s a 2003 AC Limited with 244k miles. Runs well but does have a small coolant leak I’ll have look to see where it’s coming from. Any recommendations on what to look for as far as maintenance goes? 929F04C2-4E90-4163-B49B-30834035B0C8.jpg

My switchback halos just came in, I'm still waiting on my lower ball joints, and my weekend deer camp plans fell through. Looks like I might be putting my new headlights together!

Where did you get the fancy boots?
I need to do something like that for my fridge. Nice shore power plug too!

Timing belt, loosen a couple 10mm either on the drive side or passenger side cover and inspect belt for cracks first, glossiness second. If it snaps, it's new engine time.

That said, I know you're in UT, but that doesn't mean your truck hasn't been elsewhere sometime in its life. Check the frame thoroughly for rust.

Truck looks good. Where are you seeing the water leakage?

Thanks for the tips! The leak is coming from the passenger side not sure exactly the spot though. I’ll be buying the water pump and timing belt this week and getting that done. The truck is from Colorado then spent some time in Oklahoma (where I bought it from) the frame is surprisingly free and clear of any major rust. I throughly checked the rear of the frame as well and all is good. I’m thinking of maybe getting the surface rust removed then coating it.

Uh, do you use the air conditioner? If yes, the AC condensate drain tube is a nipple on the firewall, passenger side, trace down the firewall from where the ground inserts, it's about 12-18" below if I recall. It's the first thing I'd think could be responsible on the passenger side. Not a lot of other things with water over there.

A lot of times, if you run the AC, condensate will drip out of that tube, hit other stuff below it, and deflect so it's not clear where it's coming from. It'll also rot the frame supposedly. Mine never has.

Etched one tonight and I'll try to get the next one tomorrow and start assembling the halos and rgb demon eyes. Looks much more crisp in real life.

Got the little LED pods installed on the bumper and got through a bunch of other stuff on the to-do list. Mounted my Gentex 177 mirror (still need to wire it). Picked up an add-a-fuse for the mirror as well. Did the two rear door handle replacements and found out that one of the ashtrays in the back is broken causing a rattle. Might have to just JB weld that closed.

Soldered the light pods and ran a wire loom to protect the wires. Nice and bright. Opened up my driver side door panel again and was able to get a 10mm flex wrench in there to tighten down my loose door handle another 1/2 turn. So now the door doesn't rattle at all. Slowly getting rid of all of those pesky noises I hear. That took longer than it should have but it's done. Hopefully can get the mirror wired up tomorrow evening.
