Mine has a cover too. It rolls up then the cover zips. The ends are not exposed.

Finally got to adjusting my coilovers a little bit, not sure how much it'll raise the truck. I tried it with the shocks off the truck first but that didn't work too well. I was eventually able to do it with them on the truck, but I had to separate the spindle and LBJ so I could move the UCA out of the way for my spanner wrench.

Word of caution for adjusting Kings on the truck: make sure the only the adjustment collar is turning, not the threads themselves. I ran into that and it seemed like I was starting to loosen the shock body from the top eyelet. I stopped, sprayed some more lubricant, and the collar did start to turn. I'm sure that's why King recommends not to adjust them on the truck.

Putting them in a vice didn't help because I didn't have a spring compressor or way to hold the shock. It just spun the top half of the shock around the piston.

I also installed my new rear bumpstops and u-bolts. They're much beefier but not hard as a rock like the stock ones. Thought about taking out my joke of an add-a-leaf but decided against it

Got some more maintenance and cleaning to do to the truck tomorrow, then it should be all set for T2S besides packing.

Ive adjusted mine on the truck a dozen times. The angled King T-tool gets me there, and lube.

I couldn't get it with the punch tool they provided nor a spanner wrench I got from ORW without touching the UCAs. I know I won't screw around with em' enough to buy another tool though considering disconnecting the spindle from the LBJ is easy.

that punch tool sucks, works good as a second when you have the other and room. Edit, the other is a T-handle and angled punch. Its an add on buy.

Seems like it, although you cant really hear it at speed engine/road noise drowns it out. It's loudest at idle in park/neutral or at slow speeds in gear

I don't know what it is, but because it seems to be related to RPM, I'm guessing any belts or pulleys. Can you hear it with the engine idling with the hood up? I correctly diagnosed a tensioner/pulley under the cover just by isolating it was front of the engine.

Just replaced the 20yo stereo tape deck with wireless CarPlay. I feel like I have traveled ahead in time!

If that doesn't work, in a bucket, mix powdered TIDE laundry detergent with a cup of bleach and a gallon of water. Use a brush to apply it. The stains should disappear. If the mold/mildew grew on dust that got damp, you may have to lightly brush it. Then hose down until no more suds. When I was a kid we had a similar awning on the back porch. My job was to keep it clean....

Did some resistance training. Brought this old man home, took around 2 hours to tow it 130 miles.

If it is the ps pump, do you think changing the fluid would help? No idea how to do that, but it's pretty dirty and it's probably never been changed.

Took out the 45s and remounted the reducers where I cut out the 45s; I kept feeling my bumper after long drives and it was smoking hot on the passenger side and not really on the driver side, probably because the 45s were pointing almost straight back at the bumper. Took it for a spin and it’s actually a little more tame inside the cab.

I would have tried putting the top hat in the vice. I'm surprised to hear the threads spun, thats the end cap loosening I assume.

Yeah, that's what I'm assuming too. I also thought about bolting the top hat to something to hold it. I'm still not happy with the height so I'm going to adjust them again on the truck.

Doubt it. I would be suspect of the screen at the bottom of the res. Being clogged up.

Got one out of two Bilstein 4600 front shocks installed this weekend. Hopefully the 2nd shock will go much quicker when I do it this coming Tuesday.

There is a noticeable difference over the bone jarring ride of my old shocks even with just one new shock, so I'm happy.

Reducers? Explain please. I want to learn your ways.

Plans for it? Always kinda wanted a daily driver that I could beat up like a kubelwagen. I think it would only take some more clearance and maybe differential work to make one plenty capable. I'm guessing you are going the street route? Those are really cool too.

I’m a mad scientist, I have no method to my madness!
So I originally put on the 45s and reducers because I thought I was getting a weird drone/reverb from the exhaust sound waves bouncing off the street and then back to the bed(reason for 45s)
And on the freeway when driving along, if I’d give light throttle, the rpms would bump up but then fall, almost like it was going in and out of OD? So I was just trying to get some back pressure to the entire system by using the reducers, with the 45s they seemed to do the trick and the rpms were super smooth and no jumps/bouncing.
I haven’t been able to drive it enough to tell about the rpm bump, but the short drive to the auto store for fuel line, the weird drone wasn’t there, and it almost seemed quieter even when the 45s were on
