Oh, and also, @shifty`, I'm assuming there is a little trick to getting the stock rearview mirror off on the Tundra? small slotted screwdriver to release some tab I can't see? No visible torx on my OEM one, but I'm hoping the metal mount behind it is the same style.

So there is definitely no easy spot to try and mount my air compressor intake filters INSIDE the cab near the firewall like I had done in the 4runner; the firewall seemed to have a lot more open space.
so for now I will just mount them on the compressor and run it. I’m tempted to just mount them in the cowl but that’s a project for later, I already have the hose and fittings.
I’m thinking of places to put the air chuck near the rear end. As of now I plan on using a bulkhead fitting at the very rear corner of the bed.

I was thinking running the air intake from that passengers grommet to behind the the radio or glove box.

If you run the air line from the driver's grommet, you can hide it underneath the carpet on the floorboard.

Which passenger grommet are you referring to? Maybe I couldn’t see the forest thru the trees.

the airline itself, I’m not to worried, it will probably run under the truck since the water separator and tank will be under there. I’m trying to think of a convenient and clean-ish area to mount a air chuck for filling hose and what not.

Behind the ABS module, there is a grommet you can cut into and run wires and possibly an air line through. Inside the cab it's kind of hidden behind the blower motor and one of the kick panels.

Should just be a 4mm (5mm?) allen to loosen the bolt fixing the mirror to the gravestone/wedge glued to the windshield. Loosen that allenhead pinch bolt and GENTLY slide UP the rear view mirror. If it hasn't been removed once within the last 6-12 months, chances are it may be stuck. If so, be careful you don't rip the glued wedge off the window, as has happened to a great number of people who've replaced their mirror in the past. Best advice is to gently wiggle the mirror off the wedge on the windshield.

Can't reiterate this enough, so I'll re-write here in ALL CAPS: BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE MIRROR. YOU DON'T WANT TO SNAP THE MOUNT OFF THE GLASS.

This should show the process nicely, starting at the 55s mark:

Yeah, my tundra has no visible torx/Allen. I’m guessing yours did? My Tacoma did as well. I’ll hunt Google.

Anyone know of a shop willing to build a grumper style bumper? With a built in grille? Is a front receiver really as useful as i think its gonna be? Ive used em for trailers, but im thinking implements. Dual receivers in front (and braced) of the frame horns?

I didn't. It travels about 12-14" though. I measured that when I was building the mounts. Maybe it was around 31" when I measured that from hub center to wheel well?

Got some update pictures today from the shop. Should have it back tomorrow after they finish putting it back together and align it in the morning. I'm pumped. I think it looks good.

I would dig this as well. All the front bumpers I’ve seen don’t do it for me. And I’m also struggling with the grille. Would be very tempted if it were light and attractive.

Does anyone know if sun visors from a 4runner or sequoia also fit the tundra? I'd like to swap out for one that has a mirror cover. It's a small complaint, but when I put the visor down it's a little distracting having a reflection in the mirror while driving.

I'd like something like this but don't need or want the illumination.

1st gen Sequoia will fit DC's iirc. Dunno about other models.

I found it distracting also, so I ordered a visor without a mirror for my driver side. Just gotta install it.

Was wet. The rest of the diff has surface rust. The fill plug leaking protected that section.

Huh. Never seen one like that before.

You know, taking the old tombstone off with a removal kit and gluing on a new one isn't terribly tough.

everything is about 1/4” too big. Wash tubs, my tent, my air compressor.
