When I compared the Moog outer tie rod to OEM it seemed like the OEM ones were stiffer, so I went with those. I didn’t notice a great difference in quality comparing the inner ones. Haven’t regretted my decision going with Moog on those and that was 5 years ago.

Color and texture looks good. Curious, what'd you do with the two center chrome grill caps? Planning to reinstall later?

@Jack McCarthy yes sir whole truck, is done I. Monstaliner, dirt bag is the color. @FrenchToasty wins the internet tonight for that comment in my book

@shifty` thanks, center pieces are going back on, they were sprayed in a flat black and looked sexy as hell right up but lost a fight with a random rock on the Interstate. I’ve got em pulled off to be painted in black monstaliner. Just gotta find the time to do

"Monstaliner is 100% UV Permanent and guaranteed not to chalk, fade or discolor for a minimum of 5 years"...I wonder what it'll look like in 5 years. Can you just reapply over it or do you have to grind it off first?

I have it on my 4runner rear bumper, it’s legit. If I ever washed it, it would still be nice and shiny, but it isn’t chalky by any means. It’s stupid strong too, it’s all about the prep and application

Monstaliner had some rigs at a jeep show that we’re painted back in like 2013 that still look as good now as they did when it was first done. That was part of the decision to go with monstaliner. If you have to touch up or re-paint, you just kinda scuff it, to take away majority of the texture and re-apply. Old stuff gets used like primer

I saw the pic but didn't understand how it broke. Care to explain?

    @FirstGenVol

I’m still not 100% sure it should’ve just slid up and off the mount. The set screw was backed all the way out. Except it wouldn’t slide. The mount came off in the mirror. Maybe I pulling on it and didn’t realize it trying to slide it off?The windshield had been changed once before. I still ain’t figured it out. The glass places I called said it’s fairly common when taking the rear view off :annoyed:

Is it also glued in place in addition to the set screw? I wonder if a heat gun would help free it.

Are the black plastic pieces the factory foglight trim? If i pull the fogs out of the sequoia, i dont have any ‘filler’ there, just a hole.

I got it out with a flat blade screw driver. I’m not sure it was glued or what. Makes sense it could’ve been

the black pieces are the factory blanks. Drill 2 holes in the back. One for the bolt to hold it and one for the wire. If Toyota would’ve went with a round hole like the Tacoma’s, the Cali raised kit would work. I tried it and there was a slight gap on either side and didn’t care for it

Awesome. Had to ask ... guess the hunt for a white chrome-laden grille insert continues! I didn't realize the grille was slotted to hold the chrome slats. I thought they were held on with trim adhesive. If that's not the case, and they're tabbed, I've seen at least one member here do some really super-stupid shit!

@Cummins3500 for the fogs, are the lights just attached the the inserts, or are they run through the hole for the adjustment screw? I'm working to redo mine because I didn't like that it was just the trim piece keeping the light in place and now way to adjust it.

Same. I also had one pop out on a bumpy trail. Luckily it stayed plugged in and just hung there till someone pointed it out. I want to figure out a better way to mount them.

I bolted mine to the recover points and replaced the bolts on the titan. But its 2wd and doesnt get off road anymore. But there are holes i can put a bolt to hook to.
    515425FF-00D9-4B0F-ADA6-53193E1C0FFE.jpg

i can also stick em out an extra 3 inches if i was to put a crossbar.

the switch lights up, so its blocked by the steering wheel spoke, and close enough i can drive with my finger on the trigger. They’re off before anyone crests the hill or meets the curve, and i usually give 5 second warning, but sometimes its a 3 second warning.

@shifty` Mine was slotted and held in place by trim adhesive, I’ll probably go back with emblem glue this next time. It had some stupid white tabs that it pops into on the backside that were a major pain in the *** to get off.

@Kimosabe i drilled mine out out a little big for some adjustment room, and then used a washer on either side of the insert to fill the gap. Backside got a washer, lock washer, and nut. Tightened down just till it started pulling the plastic inwards. It seems rock solid.

id still like to retrofit a set of Cali raised brackets but that project is way down the list. Gonna be a lot of work lol
