I feel like I'm having deja vu. You posted this before and I think Erik mentioned the IG dude also sells stuff to repair that?

    Indeed.

It's possible. I forget things a lot. And drink a lot. It's a bad combination really. If I was a chick I'd be pregnant a lot.

I went to change my backing plates today and opened a can of worms...

I think you meant to quote me? Do you have manual locks? I assume one cable is for my locks. The other for the handle.

I feel the same about my truck. Not sure if the fluid has ever been changed or flushed or anything. Fluid is kind of dark but not too bad. Doesn't smell great but also not burnt either. I definitely have some rough shifts though. Mostly 1st to 2nd slop. Planning to just do a drain and fill or 2. Kind of afraid to do a flush and probably won't.

@NickB_01TRD I'm two drain, and fills down. Definitely helped with my 1st/2nd slop. 4 quarts.

Yeah that's the one that really bothers me as I almost have to let off the gas completely in order to prevent a slam into 2nd. Oddly enough I read somewhere on a forum that if you put it in "2" before you take off and allow it to shift once before putting it back in "D" this eliminates every bit of the slam shift. Not sure of the exact science behind that. I do that every time I haul or tow something heavy, and while it's annoying it's better than getting a trans rebuild.

Trip looks awesome. Can I just say - side hinge mod.
Our 1972 Chrysler wagon had a tailgate that swallowed the rear window, would drop like a tailgate, or side swing like a door. Truck tailgates should drop & side-swing.

    V8 BABY!
    drove it. DROVE it. :)

You might say I was triple bad, but had double the fun...
Discovered a new Mustang CV which appeared to have a pinto under the hood.
Came across a Porsche SUV who's driver finally realized they were the weak point in their vehicles performance & stepped down.
Saved 10 minutes on an hour long trip.
Learned the best way to stop worn out shocks bouncing is to apply more power - truck settles right out.

Truck performed flawlessly. Rear end leaked not a drop.
...as a by product, I'm now officially completely out of the family homestead. Performance Truck doing truck stuff & driving stuff.
    First Gen. Tundra!

I drive the Subaru to work most days (too much stop and go in the afternoons) the Tundra has taken over baby duty for the wife but she only goes to play dates like once a week. Trying to keep the mileage as low as possible:rofl:

Appears the 2000-2001 came with a 30 tooth starwheel. Not sure what they were thinking!! 30 teeth? everyone knows that's too many! So they issued a TSB and the new replacement part has the mathematically correct and universally accepted 26 teeth.
