lol no. Did that once. I’ll get this media blasted. I may hit it a bit with a wire wheel just to knock off some loose bits though.

Installed the Hewitt tech gen 2 bypass on the ole girl today. Kits pretty awesome, came with super easy to follow directions. Highly recommend it

So I opted to not disassemble my dash all the way. I only took the glove box out for ecm access. Which left with a hell of a time trying to get wire in the cab. I ended come in above the ac condenser drain. Siliconed it really good in the engine bay and really good in the cab. Seemed like my best option
    076A90E9-A0A4-4C1A-BC1F-7F9FA0659DCF.jpg

*didn’t snap any pictures of the ecm splicing but wasn’t too bad. I did learn a hard lesson about scotch blocks, and did something really stupid with my wiring.

*that leaves the block off plates, no photos but was relative uneventful. Took the tires off, dropped the fender liners and was able to get a small ratchet in to loosen them. It was slo go due to room but the plates are not that bad on a truck that isn’t rusty. I could see them being a nightmare on a rusty truck.

*ole girl also got a oil change with Castrol high mileage full synthetic 5w/30 and k&n filter

*finally installed my diode dynamics switchbacks, looks alright even though I don’t have clear corners. It did make me realize just how bad my stock headlights are though

That’s how I roll. I’ll start a build thread when I can put more time into it. I expect to spend 2 years on it, but it’ll involve a manual conversion among other custom mods.

hmm so they do list it. never caught that. even states you can completely remove the pump and modules if you wanted. That kit would make the TRD supercharger bolt onto the VVTI motors since the main issue with the blower was it hit the air pump without plenum spacers

Did a side project this morning. I knew hanging onto the old oil fill cap would come in handy. When @empty_lord reccomended a coolant fill funnel kit replete with most of the fittings... I needed. I knew this project would be super easy!

This specific kit is the one I have.

I ordered two. One for oil, and one for coolant. The pictures below should be self explanatory, but will be happy to explain if anyone is curious.

I need a little JBweld between the fill cap, and the yellow adapter, but should be golden after that.

    Neat.

I'd probably just epoxy part of a more standard style funnel to the drilled cap. Hmmm...

That was the original idea behind me keeping the oil fill cap, but I will eventually lose parts, and pieces of the coolant kit. I'll only need the sections shown in the last picture for the oil kit. So I'll have extras laying around for the coolant unit!

The jeep and the titan have better ‘nooks’ to tuck my funnel into, but the funnel has its own drip pan, but i keep the lid, so it doesnt really drip. Its more of a spot to keep an oily rag, and keep a cleaner rag in the funnel to use for checking dipsticks and oil drops.

It's like Christmas when these come. Installed new air filters on both vehicles and new driver side door check. Didn't realize how worn out mine was. It opens and shuts far different now. Installed those door check plates too.

    Edit- actually only $25

What's the issue? I haven't driven a Tundra enough to have paid attention or tested the ABS myself.

Understandable. Do you have traction control too? I think that relies on the ABS system to function.

Any new perma bans?

took the family to our mountain for a 3 day adventure! It was fabulous!!! I knew we were going to get rain, @Tundra2 so as any Eagle Scout worth his weight in gold/cigarettes/or booze, I came mostly prepared! First off, anyone who wants to listen, awnings are THE absolute TITS!!! It saved our asses multiple times during our adventure due to the weather, and it’s 100% water proof! Easily deployed and easily pitched for watershed! I’m definitely going to get the annex for me and the boys trips! Second, I’ll be doing a rear member fluid swap soon, my entire ass end was up to the bumper when I launched the boat, rear tires completely under, my exhaust burbling. I have a remote breather but I’d still like to check. Boat captain said the truck crawled right out and didn’t spin at all!
We had a great time even though the weather was perfect. We smashed it as usual with the fish, but not very many keepers; I’ll let the little guys go for another kid or to grow bigger. But this morning I caught a beautiful brown or German brown; keeper but I didn’t feel like dispatching him before we left. We got to watch this ridiculous storm come up the valley and smash into the mountain and take over the flat we were on, one of the coolest monsoons I’ve gotten to be a part of! And I cooked some stupid new yorks, corn/elote, and sautéed shrooms, shit was goooood!
And the truck ran great the entire time! I was cooking on the way home because a left lane Lucy lollygagger from Texas wanted to keep up, stupid lane campers!!
Oh, also fuck tail gates when your loading a bed w a camper shell!!!! I took it off all times loading and unloading!

There won't be a group buy on door checks. I bought a door check but I also bought these little plates to help prevent this:

    Capture+_2021-04-28-17-44-44.jpg

Also, I lied earlier. They are only $25 for access cabs.

It is crazy how sensitive the rear drums are. I added a few clicks to the star adjuster yesterday with the wheels off the ground and noticed an immediate difference when I test drove it. I realize they are supposed to self adjust but that doesn't seem to work for me even though everything appears to be in great shape. I'm guessing the bell cranks I asked about last week are slightly out of adjustment. The back up and engage parking brake trick doesn't seem to do anything but the parking brake works very well.
