You don't have to. Typically when someone says they "made" x-amount of dollars it implies and means profit. I'm just going to assume you misspoke and meant $20k in positive equity.

I bought a 22 platinum loaded up and paid 69k. i ended up paying 3k over msrp. However they gave me 60k for my Ford F250 Lariat diesel with 85000 miles. So i guess it wasn't as bad as it could've been lol

This is pre-tt&l. About 56.7k when it’s all said and done. Just lucky to pay close to msrp.

Fellow Toyota employee I see haha. MSRP was 60,698. Invoice was 56,793 and I paid 55,515. I actually leased it with multiple security deposits. Put down 6k for 36 month lease with payment of 345 and I'll get back 3200 after lease is over. Couldn't pass that up.

no just buying from the same dealer for the last 15 toyota's for me, wife, daughter, son. never worked at a dealer, even though i know most of the time more than the sales person.

so yeah i have a leg up than most people.

    nice deal.

just waiting for allocation requests to open up in my region so i can pick only the pkg/options i want. not what toyota sends the dealer right now.

That's great to hear you have a dealer that takes care of you. We have a big following at our store here as well and have continued to take care of everyone even through COVID. Hate hearing dealers trying to just straight up take advantage. What region are you from?

i am the kansas city regional port, but my dealer is in ND. this dealer has been doing best price for about 20yrs. they learned along time ago volume makes more money than per sale. if you can hit your quarterly sales numbers, the kickback from toyota is worth more money in the long run than nickel an diming your customers.

The dealer I got my 22 from just contacted my buddy today who had a deposit on Pro, looks like they will be able to start allocations for them this week. He is paying MSRP

Found a dealer just north of me. Willing to sell at $300.00 below MSRP. No add ons. In another state. So I will have to pay the sales tax in my state. Before I can get it registered. Familiar with that dog and pony show.

im about 3 hours from Little Rock, they wouldn't have a problem selling to anyone, call the dealership and ask for chris pitcher and he will answer all your questions on it and let you know what they have coming in.

I don't mind sharing but I paid over MSRP and ordered the truck back in December and placed a $5000 deposit on Dec 10th.

2022 SR5 4WD Crewmax with the SR5 premium package, convenience package, and audio premium package. The MSRP was $54,022. They added a market adjustment of $4995 and $1495 BS lifetime package (tint, nitro, paint sealent, and all weather mats). OTD w fees/taxes and everything - $65,607.

My problem was that I was in a no fault accident which totalled my 2020 Tundra on October 15th. Insurance company was trying to low ball me an unfair settlement number. Long story short, I finally settled with the at fault insurance company 3 months later (Janueary of this year) for $60,000.

I originally agreed to this deal because I had a specific VIN number for the truck to arrive by the end of December, build date 11/1. However a sales manager called me the following week and said that the sales person mislead me (and a few other customers), for which she got fired. Sales manager called to inform me which set the delivery date back to the end of January. I was furious. He offered me my $5000 security deposit back, which I took immediately.

So I re-started looking for both used and new Tundras realizing how inflated and awful of a time it is to buy this truck within this market. So...I called the dealer back 4 days later (still deposit was not reversed) and asked if I could just continue with my original order and keep my spot since orders were now getting pushed out to March.

So yes, I chose to pay over MSRP since I thought the value of buying this for $65K was a better value compared to buying a used 2020 Tundra (with 10K miles) for $10K less. Not to mention that I was without a vehicle so I could not be patient. That being said, I'm so freaking stoked that I bought the 2022 despite me "overpaying" for this vs. a used option.

This was quite an emotional roller coaster to read through. I'm stoked that you're stocked for your truck and I am as well!

LOL. Let me clarify. I'm stoked about the truck! Not stoked for overpaying. I was in a pinch with both options, I was either going to overpay for a 2020 or overpay for a 2022. Felt overpaying for the 22 was the better bet.

What's the best way to get a 2022? Build at closest dealer that will take MSRP and wait? All the dealers around me act like they aren't in any rush to take my order, and I need a truck ASAP.

If you order at a dealer in another state, what do you do about service?

Is there a way to search all dealers?

This is becoming a frustrating process.

Called a new dealer yesterday I saw on the facebook group, guy had a loaded platinum long bed coming in end of March and put a deposit on it. They are expecting their first hybrid allocations first week in March and he said if one pops up with my spec (Long bed 4x4 1794/ Platinum- OR package or advanced in MGM, WCP, Silver, or Army green) I am first on the list for it and my deposit will be trasnfered. MSRP, zero mark ups

Service is covered by ALL toyota dealer's, they cant turn you away because you didn't buy a truck from them.

What's this FB group that you speak of?

Only thing that makes me hesitate is my local dealer offers lifetime powertrain warranty, supposedly no mileage max...no catch other than original owner only that I can find.

Wait, $345 a month for the lease payment? How does that work. I was doing the same deal and was getting told $659?

I was seriously looking at new 1794. I currently own 2019 1794. I expected price increase for new gen Tundra, but I wasn't prepared for $10,000 price increase. For me, financially doesn't make sense at this time. My 2019 has only 10,000. I probably don't really need truck. If I buy the new truck, it'll probably sit in the garage like the old one. I still like the idea of new Tundra in my garage.

I can't imagine buying new again after 3 years. This will be the first new vehicle I've bought in my entire life, and the only reason I can justify it is because of my employer giving me an allowance.
