What 2022 are you going to buy ?

I ended up pulling the trigger and placing a deposit on a 2022 SR5 with the TRD Off-Road package. White with the Boulder fabric interior. I've always been a big fan of the "Stormtrooper" look of White with black emblems & wheels. Just a personal preference for me. I lucked out that my local dealership had one "in-transit" that I could reserve via deposit. This will be my first new Toyota...ever. I've owned several and usually bought CPOs, but right now CPOs are going for more than new vehicles. What a crazy time we live in!

 

Here is my build on top of an SR5, Celestial Silver. Expecting arrival next week.

Any word on this trim yet? I’m curious to see what over $70k gets you.

 

when i bought my 08, we had a young family and i could only afford the 4x4 CM 'grade' trim now known as SR. if/when i get a new one, it will be a 1794 trd prob in wind chill or army green. and interested in the details of capstone.

I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for an SR5 double cab with the TRD Off Road Premium package, black softex with black, silv, gray or blue paint. I’d really like to order one but dealers are telling me it probably won’t get built for 4-6 months. And I’m not comfortable waiting that long to negotiate the trade-in on my 18 Tacoma, what if the value plummets $4k over the next half year?
So I’m keeping an eye on inventory in my area and hoping that maybe by Feb, something close to what I want will be available on a lot somewhere.

 

Hi kmangino47 thanks for your post, this build will be amazing it's very close to what I'm looking for also. **How were you able to stack the TRD Off Road w/the panoramic roof, JBL audio, limited premium and power, and heated wheel? My configurator won't allow me to do this on the 6.5 at all. Thanks, and congratulations on this fantastic upcoming build! Taiko

 

2 questions:

1. is the TRD package not available on the platinum?
2. why is the 1794 cheaper than the platinum with a TRD package?

 

Well the order is in.... I'm torn, only because I love my 2018 currently, especially how I've got it built, but I'm looking forward to starting over fresh also and building this one up as the after market options become available.

Currently tracking an incoming platinum in red for late February, early March! (Ontario Canada)

I'll be looking to sell my current one at the time, or just trading it back into the dealership.

 

1) No you cannot get Offroad on the platinum- one of the dumbest things they did during this launch

2) that platinum price includes the power running boards and tow mirrors, forgot that. 1794 is more expensive by $300ish dollars trim for trim

 

I'm looking at a CrewCab 6.5 4x4, but I'm waffling between an SR5 with many options, or a Limited with just JBL.

Problem with the SR5 is it gets very close to Limited price when optioned up, but still not available with JBL.

JBL is my priority, but I'd also like a cheaper trim with cloth interior.
Maybe JBL sub can be added later to lower trims?

 

dont let getting the JBL be your choice item man,

it likely sucks and you add a aftermarket sub that is WAY better if you want.

the JBL in the last truck was the worst thing ever.

 

I know the last JBL was poo. I have heard the new JBL upgrade is far better than before, and that comes from people who've heard both and agreed the last system was poo.

But, I agree, probably shouldn't let that cause me to buy a truck with accessories I don't want.

 

most likely, but if you like the sr5 truck, get that and add a JL sub with an amp and it will blow the doors off the JBL stuff any day

 

I'm actually getting the build I've always wanted. Army Green SR5 TRD off road. I should see it in 2 weeks.

 

I put the build together with my dealer b4 the configuration thing was live on the web. Original in color red, but Toyota kicked that back because my zip code is not getting that color with the sunroof. I am told it’s different options in different parts of country. That being said I can not replicate this build on the Toyota site either. My advice would be to sit down with a sales manager and see what they can and cannot get as part of allocation in your area then work off that.

 

1794 Off Road package (gets rid of most of the chrome). I've always wanted a saddle brown interior. Either the Army green or Blue.
I'm going to add my own lightbar.

I’m torn between DC or Crewmax - both with 6.5 bed. I don’t have kids so mainly going to be used with me, gf and a dog.

That extra 1 foot on Crewmax with 6.5ft bed is too long? More problem with parking/garage in the future?

 

If you don’t need the room in the backseat go DC, that was my plan but wife overruled me she wanted extra room in the backseat for imaginary friends we don’t have to fit when we go on imaginary double date nights.
I don’t think in the past 10 years anyone has ever sat in the rear seat of my current vehicle. But crewmax it is because I’m not arguing with the wife. U can not reason with a crazy person.

 

Group buy on color matched parts needed asap from seeing the new ones roll out .

 

Ummmmm 1794 has the most chrome out of all the trucks- grill, mustache plus the flavor savor at the bottom, mirrors, handles, door side emblem stripe, rear bumper, window trim, and rear tailgate handle

 

Off-road package cuts a lot of the chrome out. Black grill black wheels

 

Just the inside of the grill, not the outside mustache and flavor savor. Still a TON of chrome

 

Same as limited off-road which you are correct is still a ton of chrome. Lol. seems you have to go pro to get an off-road without chrome. Deff will be aftermarket fixes I hope.

 

You will love that color!!

 

Why in the world they did not offer the platinum with the OR package boggles my mind.
