Hi guys, I'm new here and interested in buying a 2022.
I've given my dealer a $1000 deposit on a 2022 TRD Pro for when available, for now at least. I'm not sure if I'll buy the Pro but since it's the hardest to get I decided to start there. Yesterday he texted me asking if I'd be interested in a windchill 1794 as he has one coming in Dec. Unfortunately white isn't for me so I had to decline and I actually prefer the Platinum over the 1794.
I'll patiently wait for the right one to come along.

    Official welcome,
Looks like more members procured more 2021"s than the shark week grill of the 22"s....You may be the first... I'm sticking to my gen2 paid in full, low miles and more mods to come... Digging my truck for a long while.. Good luck..

TRD Pro is the best option if you can wait for it.

Hands down my number 1 choice is the double cab SR5 TRD Sport loaded with every option.

I was going to go Ford or Chevy again next year but the new Tundra looks amazing.

I would like the looks of the sport with the features of the off road or limited. The sport is by far the best looking I think.

Just throwing my two cents in. Will be looking at the TRD Pro super white because of the heat during the summers here. I’m all in on that red interior even though red has been a color I would have not typically picked in the past .

I actually really like the TRD Pro in nocturnal. I think it looks sharp with the black accents.

Funny story, right now I own a 2018 Black offroad which I purchased new. Last year I purchased a 2020 Supra which I still have and love.
In August I texted my Toyota salesman to see what he new about the 22 Tundra's. It looked like it could be a while before the hybrids would be available, probably mid summer as I'm in Canada. So I decided in the meantime to look at the 21 Tacoma's as I previously had a 2011 sport which I really liked. So I grabbed an allocation of a 21 Barcelona Red sport manual which I'm getting tomorrow lol. Last week I put a deposit down on a 22 Pro so I could be one of the first or as it turns out I'm 3rd in line. Oh man, what have I done !!
Originally I was only looking at the hybrid Tundra's but now if I decide not to go to the Pro and take a platinum as I've learned more about the new twin turbo which could be available Dec/Jan. Do I sell my new Tacoma which I also added TRD exhaust and Trd suspension soon or wait till the Pro's come out ?
Remember I have my Tundra to sell now but with the way the market is I'm probably getting what I paid for it back in 2018. The Tacoma pricing is worse I think. I managed to get it for $943 under list when 2019 and 2020's are selling for more than list, by quite a bit. I saw one with 720km on it listed for 19k above list at a dealer so I'm sure I could get my money back.
Anyways long story short I'm getting my 21 Tacoma tomorrow and need to decide what I'm going to do. I'm not locked in with my deposit on a 22 Pro as it's subject to price, color and test drive but I do really love the look of the new Tundra's!
I'm not normally this crazy buying and selling vehicles but after a cancer diagnosis 2 years ago at age 55 it changes your prospective on life.
I apologize if this was boring but would love some opinions lol

Ya, I like that blueprint ! It looks very luxurious. I'd go for the 5'.5" bed because I don't carry much stuff anymore or longer things and if I did I have a hitch extender.
It would be nice to know the pricing of the 22's !

This was my experience as well. I told them I wanted a factory installed option and they never got back to me. Now that there is a bit more info I will be circling back with them.

With the potential that any trims below limited will only get the small screen, I'm waiting on any decision until much further down the road.

I am not overly convinced that the new tundras will be aftermarket audio friendly, so upgrading from the small screen may take considerable work.

Agreed, short of the trd pro. The pro is my top pick but not looking to spend 70k on a truck. I wish the sport had the off road features and 18" wheels, but i dont like the off road wheels on the 22 and i cant stand chrome.

Ill likely opt for the sr5 sport loaded up, then have to lift it and get better tires. I dont do any real off roading besides some trails for shooting or hunting. I also like the under seat storage for long guns that the hybrid kills. Ill be anxiously awaiting for someone like Ovtune to come up with a more aggressive tune to increase boost/performance.

I'll probably be waiting until the end of 2022 or early 2023 if I do buy a new one. Hybrid is not an option for me. Losing that storage under the rear seat, the added expense and other options you have to get like the the giant screen are deal breakers for me. 1794s are butt ugly, Platinum is sharp but not worth the price imho, and the TRD Pro doesn't offer me anything to interest me in paying the price they want.

Right now based on what I've seen, my choice will be a crewmax, short box, SR5 with the TRD Off Road package and whatever tow package I need to add to get the tow mirrors. I'll probably get it in silver or cement. I have a white truck, never again. Black is a hard no too.

It's all going to depend on pricing though. If a truck optioned like I want is going to be in the mid 60's, I'll be taking a hard look at GMC 3/4 tons.

how can the 1794 be ugly but like the platinum? The exteriors are pretty much identical. The brown interior of 1794 is legit.

Lol this. Save for the wood accents and saddle brown (which is pretty nice IMO), a 1794 is a platinum.

That said, I prefer the stock 1794 over the TRD version as I think the chrome grill actually looks better overall than the black with chrome surround on the 1794. If they blacked-out/ colour matched the 1794 Off road to completely get rid of the chrome when the grill changed, then I may reconsider, but I think the black grille/chrome everywhere else just doesn't work.

Not a 22, but likely something a few years in:

    -Crewmax 4x4 and 6.5 bed
    -SR5 (possibly sport/nightshade pkg)
    -dealer lift kit.
-Smaller screen if available at the time.
-040, silver, or (evil temptress): black.
-Probably add some LT tires and mildly jazzy wheels, delete some chrome and badges. Add some katzkin if it doesn’t have leather or softex.
