damn... it looks fugly but i seem to need time to warm up to new things.
Might have to consider going back to a Tacoma if i don't get over it in the next year.

After getting over the large mouth bass look of the grille, I turn my attention toward what appears to be smaller rear doors. You don't think they went with LESS legroom back there did they? 88k on my 2018, I may be either be looking for a '21 or just going all in long term on mine. Less legroom just doesn't work for my family.

I agree it does look better in blue than white. If the pricing didn't spike 10k at each level, I will drive one and measure just for the sake of comparison research..

I agree. I would like it if it had body color grill surround at the bottom and maybe even the bumper so that the grill does not look that big. I also agree with the TOYOTA in the middle of the grill instead of at the top (but my MS Paint skills does not allow for that to look as good as it looks in my mind LOL)

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
I like it but as long as my Tundra is running well, I have no need for it. Now if they would release a truck the size of the Maverick, I would consider that in a heart beat for a daily driver. I'd be ok with a technology-proven Prius Truck.

Yup. All a copy of the 2005 Nissan Frontier. But the new Toyota design is closest to the current GM design.

Current Tundra had a hint of it already. They just made it way more pronounced and sharp.

I think if the lower bumper/valance was color matched with the truck color the grille would look right. imho

This does look better, I still think that bumper valance combo needs a little help. Are there no front tow hooks on this new truck?

Don't need 'um, it'll never get stuck! Whether that's because it's a total badass offroad or because owners will only drive them to the mall is a topic for debate!

Sold my 16 Platinum a few months ago for a profit. Had it for about 2 years and really enjoyed the truck.

I would absolutely consider this truck in a few years. I do like the look of this new one, but would probably go with a Platinum type trim again, so it's hard to rule out or decide based on a few leaks and just 1 official photo.

If they do come out with a plug in hybrid, I'd be really interested in that too. Make fun of me all you want. In the 2 years I had my Tundra, I knew what I used it for, so I know a hybrid would fit really well as my commute is only 11 miles each way.

As far as I'm concerned, turbocharged engines have been around long enough, and I have full faith that Toyota would do this truck right (I'm used to BMW M cars for fun/weekend vehicles, but swear by Toyotas for dailys). I've been checking up Lexus forums on how the V6TT is doing there and have not seen anything that would stop me from considering a turbocharged Toyota engine yet.

I joined this forum when I was torn between the 2019 Tundra, or the 2019 4Runner. So wish I would have bought the brand new SR5 Tundra 4x4 in Cavalry Blue for $33,500 instead of the 4Runner.

Now, I love my little 4Runner, and it was a blast on a road trip to the Mexican border where I went on some fairly rough trails with a Jeep club (after I lifted it and did some other mods), but, I have needed a Tundra quite a few times the past couple of years.

The RV camper I want is just too big for a 4Runner, but the Tundra is perfect. The only time I have needed the shorter wheelbase and approach angles of the 4Runner was when I went down to Arizona and did some Jeep trails. Gas mileage? My lifted 4Runner on 33s averaged 15.7 mpg on a 3600 mile road trip. It is usually around 16 mpg commuting to work. I doubt a Tundra gets much worse.

So, I was planning on trading in the 4Runner when the new Tundra came out. Now, I don't know. I don't like turbo V6 motors and I don't like front ends that force you to cut away bodywork in order to install a winch bumper.

I think the new Tundra is sorta' cool, but the 3rd Gen would fulfill my needs much better. Hoping that the chip shortage ends in a few months when the 2022's hit the market, and I can score a 2021 SR5 for $35k when there is suddenly a glut of trucks. Smart people are selling their trucks now, and then banking the money in anticipation of the chip makers to catch up and flood the market with new trucks. Ford has tens of thousands of trucks sitting on lots waiting on chips. I bet Toyota has a bunch waiting, as well.

I need to see what the Crewmax will look like..assuming the white one is a double cab? Disappointed that its just a generic looking pickup now. Front end is hideous but maybe there will be other options without that stupid out of place grill light.

Maybe it'll grow on me but the Tacoma's with that giant grill sure haven't so I'm not hopeful. Makes me kick myself for getting a '17 instead of a '21 for sure....I wonder what the loss would be to trade in on new four months later...

I might consider buying the 2022 Tundra if and when it is finally released.
