Also I posted a poll 3 hours ago. We may need to form a committee to see if this poll is halal, or if reparations are in order.

I'm thinking about it. Maybe not the first year, but maybe in 2023 or 2024. I'm looking beyond the initial aesthetic too. Imagine what it would look like with better tires/wheels, a winch bumper, Diamondback tonneau etc.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Looks far far better than the current truck, but until details are released I can’t commit to buying one.

The only reason I'm not currently planning to buy one is because I'd like to keep my current truck for at least 14 more years. But once I realise I need more payload, it will probably be down to this, a 5.3 GM 1500 and a GM HD gasser.

They don’t. Which is why I’m waiting on actual numbers.

I bought a 2007 in 2007 and thought it was ugly when I bought it. This one is subjectively better looking but looks are way low on my priorities list.

If I was in the market for a new truck and it was this or Ford / Chevy / Nissan.....absolutely I would.

It's still a Toyota and I trust it will be reliable. I'm hoping I won't need a new truck for a decade or more.

Payload is something I want to see improved. That and pricing. I'm very pessimistic this truck will be in the affordable range though. I'm predicting mid-$50K for the SR5, a little over $60K for TRD Off Road and upwards of $70K for the Pro here in Canuckistan.

Well, my 2020 SR5 had an MSRP of about $53k, which is pretty in line with the Sierra SLE, Silverado LT and F150 XLT. But Toyota was offering $8k off when I bought it.

$8K off? I've never seen more than $1K off at a Toyota dealer. Where did you buy it?

I got my 2019 SR5 new in Canada with $8k off as well. It was $38k Cad + taxes with the discount. MSRP of $46k - $8k. It ended up being cheaper than a similar model Tacoma which had $1k off.

Well shit. Guess I may have to travel when it comes time to buy a new truck. I like my local dealer but they've told me that they simply don't sell trucks below MSRP. Must be that Grande Prairie rig money.
