Kuul, but when I think of VW is the old bug. There was no HP, especially following several vintage VW Van's yesterday. Shit....I hit a passing lane finally going up Clear Creek highway. I flew by them doing to 40 mph speed limit..sheesh

and here are the fillups recorded the last few fill ups. the 14/15 mpg are trips to fargo recently with wife driving by herself with no load. the low mpg are around town.

forgot to add, those 14/15 mpg are doing 55/65.

Well, what information is available and the few videos I have seen today is very promising. I can't wait to see and drive a new loaded 1794, I am especially interested in the quality of the interior materials and how the ride quality is with the rear air suspension. I also hope that they have done something about the subpar JBL "Premium" stereo system.

I might just sell my 2021 Ram 1500 Limited (which sets the bar as far as the interior is concerned) and come back to Tundra.

That's a good point. This is a historical moment where beating a dead horse was worth it since it was proven that it was the correct move to beat the dead horse :D hopefully everyone on the losing team will remember this next time this type of argument comes up lol

Can we rename the 2.5 gen to like 2.7 or maybe 2.8 gen? I feel like our trucks are way more than .5 better than those 2nd gens.

You currently pay more for the 5.7 vs the 4.6 though. I don't see 2022 base vs iforce max much differently. And there's there's nothing wrong with being on-par with the competition. People are gonna buy the truck they want. A slight difference in horsepower or torque largely won't be the deciding factor for the average buyer. Most people I talk to bought their truck (vs the competitor's similar offering) because they preferred the look, they're brand loyal, or they got a smokin' deal on the truck that wasn't their favorite but they liked it enough to sway the decision. That would have been the Sierra SLT for me, but the deal wasn't there. I'm very glad it wasn't, too. I found out quickly that I'd made the right choice.

Still, the "base" Tundra engine is head and shoulders better than the 5.3 Silverado, far more torque than the standard hemi, and beats the F-150's V8 offering. In the overall picture, it's the best of the bunch with regard to power. I don't necessarily think it's unfair to call it on-par, but it's still #1 when it gets down to the minutia.

I agree the better engine should be available in all trims, and I also don't care about gas mileage. As you said, the cost is pretty negligible for someone willing to pay 40k+ for a vehicle.
