OP, is this vid similar to your issue? this was 30mph in a 35 zone, normally run about 40 when dry. As seem the water comes from the front of the truck, so I do not think the fender flares will help. Maybe the skid plate is the issue? Does non-TRD truck have skid plates? If not, it could be that these guys do not have the issue because of lack of it. Some mentioned that changing that plate to aftermarket cured the splash. And yes OP, I agree to the safety issue, especially to an unfamiliar driver of the truck.

@Camprunner Thanks for the video and it is similar to what I encounter. I thought all tundras come with a factory skid. Mine is just like the one posted earlier in this thread. I'll try and see if I can get a video myself going through a puddle. I agree that fender flares would not help with the water coming from the front. Perhaps an RCI skid plate is my next purchase for the truck. Would be interesting to see if that eliminates the issue and it would make oil changes easier.

After looking at the various videos I doubt the skid plate will change the situation; its good recommended kit but not a remedy for this problem.

What I am seeing appears to be the tires pushing water forward and up, creating a wall of water the truck drives through.

Thanks for this info. The tundra has a short nose, for lack of better term, from the tire to the bumper. More cab forward.
I was glad @priest brought this up to see about a fix as not too many people with tundras mentioned this as an issue.
