LMK how this goes. I'm curious because the Tundra is a relatively new platform for HP.

Since you have a second gen, I'll chime in. Is yours a flex fuel vehicle? If so, I wouldn't go with bullydog. Their tune doesn't have the updated ffv algorithm and cause the perceived ethenol levels to rise to the point I could barely get my truck started. The other thing I didn't like was the transmission shifting. It held gears when it shouldn't have.

I bought in to ovtune while he was still doing custom tunes and so far my truck runs so much better. It's been a year since I purchased and the owner is still building out different ECU's with his own custom programming. So there are a couple of features that I am still waiting for. He has recently told us the completed "tune" will be finished this July. I even took my truck and had stock, dap and OV all tested, a total of 9 runs. OV tune beat them all for tq and hp. I returned my BD tuner a long time ago, so I couldn't test it. There are some who have moaned a little about how long it's taking, but in the end it's worth the wait.

In a way it's a bummer that he couldn't continue doing custom tunes, but after numerous folks have done all of the testing, the tunes that he sends out with his tuning software should be a great option for people. If you have a chance, you should check out the first post in the thread below. It lays out what he has done and includes Dyno results. Which are from my truck. I paid full price for the tune and I paid out of my own pocket for the Dyno so people on this forum could have independent results!

In my opinion, whatever that's worth, this is the absolute best option for our trucks. He didn't just adjust the stock tune, like other tuners, he completely rewrote the ECU with his own code. Pretty damn genius if you ask me!

@TX210Tundra Prospeed here in Houston has tuned a couple tundras using HP tuners.

I personally have a DAP tune, about a year and 15k miles and it gives me an ear to ear grin every time I drive my truck. I know Dustin is a one man shop, out tuning during the day and trying to reply to emails at night. Its worth the wait, its really amazing.

@OVTune When the VF tuner is released. What tunes will be standard for a 2013 Tundra? Will Gear Lock in S mode, Torque converter lock? Come standard? Your torque numbers at lower RPM is a game changer! Will that become standard with VF Around July 1..?

So OVTune is not programming tunes till July? Did OVT not like the last results he was getting? Seems like most guys loved it. I have a DAP tune. OVT has my interest when I 1st saw his thread. Seems like overall it’s a better tune than DAP, which has been great for me.

We are holding off until we finish up code on some ECUs for our features. We have so many Tundra customers that if we continue to sell without limiting it we will be way overwhelmed.

How does one get on the waiting list? Think it's time for a new tune.
