    Hello Everyone,

We had someone on facebook direct us here hoping we can share more about what we are doing on the Tundra ECU, and what we have coming soon for the Tundra.

I'd highly recommend you read our blog post here:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news/the-ultimate-5-7l-tundra-tune-map-switching-tow-lock

Check out our overview video of some of the upcoming features:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zRH7IcQ6E0&t=97s

Some of the features we have custom coded ( in house, exclusive to OVTune )
    are -
    - Live map switching. Switch between 2 different tunes without flashing
    - Gear Locking (shown in video above)
    - Multiple custom tables we have setup to help the ECU better achieve certain goals (like mpg) (see blog)
    - Newly designed tables that are used with Supercharged trucks to make the tune safer than what is possible on stock ECU. (A newly designed ignition compensation map that makes adjustments to ignition depending on blower temps) and same for fuel.
    - Larger tables with more resolution for tuning
    - Increased load cap

and much much more. There are things we have developed but have not released yet, but we will be once our dyno results are posted.

Our test truck : 2016 CrewMax FFV 5.7L

Development blog for our Harrop Supercharger calibration (to be updated 5/18/19)
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news/preparing-the-flex-fuel-tundra-for-the-harrop-tvs2650

Okay everyone. Some more dyno results to show you guys.
First this truck has stock headers and catback exhaust. No other power modifications.

    Octane of choice: 93 octane
    Tune options >
    Gearlocking
    Expanded VVT
(and more to come for him with dialing it in).

    First.

The truck was previously tuned for 93 octane. So the owner decided to test out the previous tune vs stock tune, before flashing over that tune with custom features tune.
Unfortunately, tested on an Independent dyno jet, the truck made less power than stock.
RED = other 93 octane tune / flash.
    BLUE = STOCK
Testing was all performed same day, same conditions, same tank of gas.. (minutes apart). I have no interest in naming the company, we are only interested in showing the results as tested, all conditions constant.

Next, our Gearlocking tune was loaded and tested. This showing the large torque potential increase that we were trying to explain to you guys. Unlike stock which is normally impossible to obtain, our Gearlocking tune you have a torque potential difference of 150-170+ Ft lbs use-able in the lower RPM range without the transmission blocking you out. This is a phenomenal difference is use-able torque, especially when towing.

Finally, timing was limited but we made some further improvements for the truck as you can see here, smoothing out and increasing power, and removing the extreme rich situations up top that you see on stock trucks. With peak gains from 3500 rpm through 5000 rpm of 30+ ft lbs / 20 + ft lbs / and increased horsepower as you can see. testing on this file was after 9+ runs and plenty of heat soaked time, unlike IDEAL conditions of the very first runs (pre-stock tune test). For more power to be obtained up top, we have a bit more work to do on the torque converter, and replacing the stock header with some aftermarket ones. (We are working on some very nice high flow CATTED headers to remain legal).
unfortunately the dyno operator kept lifting earlier even though the limiter was set at 6500..

    Conclusions,
Our gearlocking tune is the ultimate way to expand your USABLE torque from 2000 to 5000 RPM, where the engine is normally neutered due to transmission control.

    Regarding gearlocking,
gearlocking will be updated to be S-mode only controlled, so that you can use it with and without the Tow / haul button (optional).

    Flex Fuel Patch Notes -
    Patch - EROM- v1.04
    Release : ~ expected December 2019

it has taken us quite a while to make some further enhancements for flex fuel trucks based on ethanol content, so that we can create a tune that will adjust power based on ethanol content. Here is our current patch setup for the Flex Fuel Tundra that will make on the fly adjustments to fuel based on 3 determining factors > Engine Speed > Engine Load > Ethanol content.
Our next piece of this patch will be on the fly ignition enhancements based on these 3 variables as well.

Some testing and further tweaking will be done on this patch this weekend on our truck.

    Flex Fuel Enhanced fuel control.
Direct Target AFR by calculated ethanol content.

Load Based Fuel - adder for Supercharged Flex Fuel Trucks.
Takes our primary target and averages based on Target > engine speed > Engine Load > Flex content.
Primary target + Load compensator adder / average of = target AFR

    Flex - Ignition Patch details

4 Tables for adding ignition based on Calculated Ethanol content.
    Examples below.
Depending on Ethanol from 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% (with interpolation between all 4).

I know the Taco guys have been very pleased with your tune. I'm excited to see it on our trucks too!

This blew up very quickly, in a good way, for the tacomaworld guys. I remember when this first came out for the tacos. People went nuts.

can't leave the current gen 4runner out either though before Toyota messes it up with the redesign. The wife is wanting one so it'd be a nice surprise to tune it afterwards.

I got the Taco tune when you were matching ECUs to PC IDs and just using any OBD programming cable. I never got the "kit" version from you.
