Vote for the location of my lights

I hope to go to grave with this truck but ya never know. Very good point. It's a quick easy fix to remove and replace back to stock. Could be a great solution to those guys who lease or get the trade itch every few years. Invest in some awesome bd lights and take them with you to the next truck cheaply and easily. Tnx for input before and now.

 

That's the plan, but I'm already putting more miles than I'd like using it as my DD. I'm hoping wifey gets sick of the Camry se hybrid I just bought her sooner than later. That would make for an awesome commute car for me. What costs me like $4-500/month in gas only costs her about $40-50. That's also with her driving further than me everyday. That bitch, the car of course lol, gets a damn 40mpg avg. Me I get alot of smiles per gallon.

 

I did A on my truck. One main reason was cutting into metal bumper structure. A is thin plastic. There is quite enough room but be careful my wife and I tried a few different locations in A and what we thought looked best ended up not having enough clearance. If you go A move higher and outside rather than lower.

 

I already did A and I'm very happy with it. No cutting into the metal and happy with how it looks and performs.

 

How did you wire. Just to a switch or to reverse lights

I did to both. So even without a key in, just like my front bd s8 lightbar I can push the in cab switch for either and they will come on with or without key in ignition. The rear squadrons are also tied to come on when put in reverse automatically. The s8 in front is linked to the drl to be amber backlit when the truck is on and will shine white truly on when I push the switch, otherwise it's always on amber backlit with my drls. If I turn the drls off then the amber backlight goes out too. I love having both come on automatically with either drls or in reverse. However, I love even more the ability to turn on either with the push of a button with or without key in ignition.

Even though my LP9's replacing the stickers idea was not approved by upper management(shocker). Guess I gotta live with 2 more useless stickers added to my collection. Start working on it now, it's coming down the road, buy 2 LP9's get 1 free for such a loyal customer. Let me know soon as it's approved and I'll pull the trigger on them. It's ok to wait until they notice a bunch of people with tundras putting squadrons in their rear bumpers, once that happens I want my damn buy 2 get 1 free LP9.

Can you briefly explain exactly how you wired that.

 

Mostly a 16ft tandem filled with firewood or quads. Sometimes a log splitter, a small boat, and couple other things. This was tonight after I got done unloading all the firewood.



Took another shot just to show how bright these suckers are. The cone I'd say is a good 30 yards back or so. That's what I was saying last night. For 100 ft back these lights are extremely bright and do an awesome job lighting it up. They even still throw a good amount of light, just not as bright for the next 30 yds/100 ft. It's pretty amazing.

See if I can remember off top my head, since it was actually months ago the wiring was done for this. So from battery to relay/fuse next to fuse box grounded in engine bay, then through firewall into cab to an in cab switch. From there they run back to each light following the black plastic factory hose and also tap into the reverse lighting back there. I think that's how it goes. I had a buddy help me with the wiring since that's not really my thing.
