Like title says, I need some help. Vote for a mounting location based solely upon which location will look better. Do not take anything else into account on your vote. Once u vote u will get access to see how your vote stacks up to all entries. REMEMBER ONLY BASE YOUR VOTE UPON LOOKS. Here we go:

Location A 1 light on each side

Location B 1 light on each side

Here this helps alot courtesy of Sas.

Uh some of u guys are clowns. Cant say I'm not too though. Long as u vote I don't care how many silly comments.

I'm still going to do what I decide to do regardless of the poll results. I just want to make sure 1 spot over the other isn't a clear winner to where I can take from that the 1 spot looks bad.

I was leaning B yesterday and earlier today but I thought about it more today and I'm now reverting back to my original plan, leaning back to A, all due to rust concerns. I think it will look fine, and I'm not worried about output from their location, they will throw regardless.

I'm making it official, I'm casting for A now like my original plan.

I'm sure tomorrow I'll be back on B, I just cant make up my mind. Unfortunately this is not really something u want to do then change ur mind after cutting it all up.

This location you can change with some plastic if you don't like them at that location. This location is actually usable for backing up to hook a trailer.

If you mount them in B location, they will be shining out since the bumper is curved, unless you shim or have a mount that you can form.

Tnx Chris, I definitely need the light for hooking up trailer at night. It wouldn't hurt to have the extra light at the sides either. That's actually why I went with these lights, I'm very familiar already having them and I'm sure regardless of location they will provide the light I need both for trailer and off to sides.

Great point on plastic, besides my rust concerns. Much better spot to choose if I change mind later. Unfortunately, I've been doing that every couple hours driving myself fn nuts. Yesterday I was thinking B now today I'm sold on A.

    Tnx for help, good points.

Everybody keeps mentioning rust concerns, aren't all of the OE painted rear bumper corners plastic?

I vote as far out towards the corner as you can get them. When reversing or using the lights, you will get more coverage.

I see a lot of “B” mounts, but for trailering applications I think “A” would be better.....on a side note who makes that hitch set up you have?
    Thanks

    See fine print
I’ve thought about doing A just cus it might be easier due to it being plastic. Just not sure if there is enough clearance.

If you do A please let me know the clearance back there! I think either looks fine but I chose B as it looks cleaner to me.

Gen y. It's their 10k torsion hitch. It's badass. The company is growing rapidly and it's because they make quality unique products.

Yeah but in that location there's metal directly behind it. Behind plastic there's not much with a much larger gap between.

It's pretty much 50/50 just as I thought it would be around. That's why just based on looks it's a tough call. If nothing else, the vote is helping me decide anyway. Its confirming for me more that the other factors should be the deciding factors. I figured it would be close. I also wanted to confirm it wasn't a landslide 1 way. If I was choosing the location that next to nobody else picked I'd have to question it further. But I'm actually glad to see that just based on looks there is no clear winner, I was actually hoping to see that going into it.

See there are actually reasons for my madness.

I like B, A you have them close to your license plate lights, the mixture of colors might give off the wrong Hue

:rofl:I just think there more symmetrical spread out, if that makes any sense, and oh yeah let's not forget that possible mystery Hue, hahaha :p

I like B better. I will warn you this location will require you to have to notch out the OEM black structural honey comb plastic behind the bumper ends. I posted a bunch of pics of this on my build. If you want the lights to be more centered like mine are then you have to do more trimming to the corner plastic supports. I hope these photos help you if you decide to use this location.

I did the outboard location like 1UPPER, I think you get a better light spread that way. As he mentioned, there is structural bracing for the rear bumper behind the painted plastic bumper cap, on my 1794 it is metal, not plastic honeycomb, the metal was a PITA to trim. My tip would be to take your time, once you start cutting there isn't a lot of room for error as far as the painted bumper cap is concerned. Each hole I trimmed I did a test, fit and adjust until it was perfect. That process took a wile to get the lights to sit flush and square.

Tnx Ian, yours was 1 I remember seeing and liking and actually used as a reference. Hope u don't mind. I tried going back to find who's it was under ur build but couldn't find it. Looks great but I'm pretty sure I'm going in black plastic, for bunch of reasons. But tnx for taking time to respond and show. If I was going this way your and @1UPPER info would be very helpful.
