Does it work on the fly? Or do you have to come to a complete stop for it to turn off the nannies?

Yea there's a guy on the forum that sells the setup for like $90, I have it and it's the tits. If I don't want the lights on or to re-enable TC I just hit the stock button once and it turns everything back on.

Only issue, which I'm hoping is solved in the next patch I get from OVT, is with TC totally off it seems to over ride the tune. The truck will sit in the lowest gear possible, even to redline at times. I have to be in S mode to get the truck to even shift past 4th, sometimes 3rd, even when under almost zero load and the truck is screaming at 5000rpm. What the deal is, I'm not sure, but I still like the auto-TC off enough to work around the quirks which I'm sure will get fixed in the ECu/TCU eventually.

I've seen some of the other stuff that they do which is pretty tempting. The illuminated emblems and badges, but they're not my style. Pretty neat looking though.

Hello, will my ECU need to be updated before I can flash with vF? Other people answered but I want check with you for sure. And if it does and Toyota won't say it. Would there be any problem with me using a paid subscription of TIS and flashing updated firmware?

The functionality is the same as push and hold the buttons except you do not have to. For instance if I have my switched turned on and start the truck it goes through the 7-10 second routine of press hold, release, press and hold for you. Once that completes (by the time your seat belt gets put on) and your good to go.

if I have the switch off and I am driving and want it on, just like pressing the buttons manually you will need to come to a stop. So I will press it and when convenient to stop (stop light or sign), just pause long enough for the cycle to complete and your done.

When off road I have the switch on all the time and turn it off before getting back on the highway.

Just pull your ABS fuse for some good old school fun. That’s what I do when I hit dirt now - pull ABS1 and enjoy the analog truck.

Ready to go home? Pop the fuse back in and cycle the ignition.

The only problem with this is ATrac doesn’t work with the fuse out, so if you use that to climb or get through cross-axle obstacles, you have to pop the fuse back in. I’ve debated just putting the fuse on a momentary switch (it only takes a momentary interruption to fail the abs test at any time), but didn’t want the liability of tampering with a safety device should something happen on the street. Even if it’s in the ‘safe’ state by default, I don’t want to give insurance any reasons to deny something.

It may not if the vehicle is already in 4WD prior to pulling the fuse. An experiment would be needed.

Assuming it's anything like an abs wire being blown, the truck will be more or less stuck in whatever the transfercase was in before hand (it won't automatically shift the tcase). With that said you can sometimes trick it to shift through low range/4wd even if the abs is blown by restarting the truck and then trying to shift it, it's not quite the end of the world if you lose and abs sensor like the forum thinks.

no effect on 4WD functionally other than ATrac won’t work. You can shift 2/4hi/4lo just like normal.
We covered this a couple years ago Alex. LoL.

The last time I researched OV they were selling a dongle and providing tunes as they were developed. I was very interested but had other upgrades to complete first. Now when I go to the website I don’t see a dongle anymore just software for 1200 bucks. I have a 2012 Platinum that needs some serious help and I really liked the transmission stuff they had. Can someone bring me up to speed?

In nut shell? $370 for the VF tune software + $250 for additional tune pack for the Tundra. Sounds like All ECU’s should be supported by the end of the month?

Thanks for the reply. One more question. What exactly does all ecu’s mean? Is that just for certain years? I have 2012.

Last I read was 2007-2019 by the end of the month...However OV was having some difficulty with the early ones? 2007-9? I’m sure he’ll chime in.. @OVTune

Has anyone had a problem where the orange dongle will not connect to the truck? I removed and reinstalled the drivers. The computer hasn't changed, but I flashed the registry key again, just to check. I'm using p5flash 1.2.2.

None of the buttons: Identify, Read, Flash it, ETC are lighting up to allow me to press them.

Windows updates. I don’t know that anyone has figured out exactly which one does it but it’s happened to a few people.

    Hello,

Did anyone came across detonation issues with base tune file for S/C Tundra. The pinging was loud at RPMs above 4.5k. I reset all the fuel trims and alcohol density (yes, she's FFV) but the results are still the same. Initial run was with 91 octane fuel so I tried 95 octane (Middle Eastern fuel grades) and the pinging went away when pulling in 2nd gear but is back in 3rd gear around the same rpm range; this time much less noticeable but definitely can be heard. City driving is fine though, I love the gear shift. Truck is so much more responsive with that torque management setup .

The truck is stock except the S/C and TRD cat-back exhaust mods. Can outside temperature be the cause here? It gets really hot here. Intake at idle during daytime sees an upwards of 150F, although not sure how accurate the temperature sensor is :notsure:.

I hope @OVTune got my logs sent to zendesk a week ago, very anxious for now as there is no way of knowing if Matt actually received it :goingcrazy:.
