Crazy how you still have up to a year (sometimes) that your boys are still swimming. Gotta get your skeet tested every 90 days

I had mine performed in "98. My advice is getting it done in the fall. Because if you get snipped on Friday it leaves you with college football on Saturday. and NFL games on Sunday.

During my process, the sailor in me took over. I was bored laying there so I asked if I could watch the procedure via a mirror.

A vasectomy might be reverseable altho no guarantee and its a costly procedure done with an electron microscope. My surgeon said he loved to do reversals. Also, a guy can freeze his swimmers if he thinks he might want kids later.

Depends on the doctor. I looked into it a decade ago, and was told it'd be hard to find a doc willing for somebody under 35.

My dad had a vasectomy done when he and my mom decided they were done having kids. They divorced within a couple of years. His second wife begged him to have it reversed, which he did, and he had a harder time recovering from that than from the initial snip. Then, after they tried to get pregnant for a few months, he found out that she was incapable of bearing children due to scar tissue from a pair of abortions in her teen years that she wasn’t willing to tell him about beforehand. He was....not happy.

I’m 40 now, and my wife and I don’t want to get pregnant again, but I guess I’m just not to the point where I want to surgically insure that it won’t happen again. Maybe that’s because of the weird family history with this procedure.

I’ve also seen a friend’s junk blow up to the size of a grapefruit and turn black. That probably has a bit to do with my disinterest in the procedure as well.

HEY HOW ABOUT THOSE TUNDRAS, HUH? TIRES AND MPG, AMIRITE?!!

Crap - mine was back in ‘03 (age 26). When we went in for the birth of the second kid, my wife’s midwife looked at me and said, “you guys said you were done at two, right?” We both said, “yes.” And she said, “good - then she doesn’t get discharge papers until I’ve seen your confirmed appointment. Otherwise you’ll be back in here in another two years!”

I think the most memorable part was reading the “instructions” that said how many times you had to flush out the tubes before sending in your test. My wife still chuckles that they referred to “milking” it after each of those flushings...I tried to get her to help, but she always seemed to be busy with the new baby. o_O

My wife had a really bad labor and birth with my daughter (10lbs) that ended with my daughter had some nerve damage that lucky healed. With my son our doctor forced a c section. After everything she went through she said the least I could do is get snipped. And we’re definitely done having kids.

My dad actually had a surgeon named Dr. Slaughter when he was getting put back together after a tree felling accident. Some people really should consider changing their names before going into medicine!

My urologist was called Bubba - that's it, nobody called him Dr. I don't even know what his first or last name was anymore. That was about 16 years ago. We were in a small town in South Mississippi. However, he was a graduate of Harvard Medical School and was who all the other docs went to.
