@snivilous I am having the same issue in my 07 Tundra (little to no heat on either side...dealer said it is a blend door). How can I manually set the door to AC in summer and Heat in winter?

It's been awhile since I screwed with it. As janky as it was, I took a piece of wire, like a coat hangar, and as I recall reached up through the passenger footwell and disconnected the floor vent tube and then shoved the wire up inside the climate controls and jammed it around until it started blowing air where I wanted it  there was no rhyme or reason, just prying on things until the blend door would move into an acceptable position hahaha

LOL that is brave...you must have been freezing. Were you able to repeat the process to switch it back when the temp changed? I was thinking about drilling a hole thought the side (hopefully near the end of the blend door) insert wire push for hot pull for cold when the season changes. just need to figure out exactly where to get after it. Thanks for the confidence that a manual shit is actually possible!

I just screwed with it enough so that it's eternally on a combination of feet and face essentially. Prior to that the feet didn't get any air at all, so now that it's a 50/50 split it's good enough to live with it. The defrost works fine, in my case it just seems to be the feet blend door doesn't work so by forcing it into a halfway open position I now have defrost, and 50/50 face/feet as my two options haha

Ahhh my vent selector works fine. The switch between AC and heat is my issue. Suspect I should be able to do something similar.

Had this done two winters ago. Then had redone a few weeks later under warranty. I felt so bad for tech. I had heat on one side cold on other side. Not a sqeak since.

I think mine was $2500. 00 more or less
But I also had 835,000 km on truck at the time so wasn’t too bad.

I've never done it but remember watching this video, typically the issue is the blend door and it seems Toyota says the dash needs to come apart but this guy did it without doing that by drilling one hole.
