For me, a truck has a frame and not a unibody. I know the definition says otherwise......

Maybe you were looking at the 2021 Ranking? The list linked for the 2022 shows the Tundras previous rank for 2021 was #10.

I've never driven a Totota. I've owned a Chevrotet and a Tord, though.

Why? IDGAF. Buy and drive what you want, and I'll do the same. No brand loyalty here, and every brand has done something to piss off a portion of potential buyers. You do you.

That’s a good point, right away I started looking them up and down and thinking to myself….well…for me, removing the decals just removes the debate. I also don’t mind the look of it.

I tell a guy in my office who drives a ram that we can talk about who's truck is more American when I'm driving him to work cause his truck is in the shop. That usually ends the discussion.

As a 36-year Teamster, I'm more than happy to not be driving a UAW vehicle.
Being a union member you realize how the laziest people get by doing the least amount of work possible.
Then they cry to their union stewards when they get called out on it.
I don't want them assembling my vehicle.

    I'm on my 3rd Toyota, 2nd Tundra.
Fewer issues with any of them than the Chevy, GMC, and unfortunately Ford products I've owned in the past.
The 3 Toyotas, 1 Honda, and 1 Nissan I've owned had very few problems, some of them none.

Nothing wrong with debadging your truck.
Although you already know, it's always going to look like a Tundra.
Badge and emblem removals are better done when the truck is new, but it can still be done.

Enjoy your Tundra, while your friends Ram, Ford, and GMC trucks are in the shop....

Some people prefer loyalty over commonsense and a full wallet. My next door neighbor is a diehard Dodge fan yet I see him so often with the hood up in his driveway.

I grew up in a steel town so my first new car was American made. A 1981 Dodge 024 with the Detamaso pinstripe performance package. Wasn't a year old before someone scratched BUY AMERICAN into the paint.

I am also a 36 year Teamster and retired. I have had Toyota's since I bought a new 1980 Corolla. I tell them the same thing, I will pick you up at the repair shop!
I also completely agree about some of laziest people doing there best not to work and they are all protected.

I hope to retire in 2 or 4 years, it depends on the conditions of the next contract 8/1/2023.
If they would offer us old-timers a decent buy-out, I might take it.
Glad you already made it out.

Being union in a right-to-work state doesn't mean much.
I'm only a paying member on a national level because of my pay and benefits.
Our local stinks, the biggest group of do-nothings, bending over to the company's every demand and collecting their pay and car allowances..
I've asked for union representation maybe 3 times in 36 years.

I go to work, do my run as expected, and go home.
Management pretty much leaves me alone..:D

The first car, that I bought myself, was a 1980 Honda Accord hatchback.
I drove the crap out of it as many an 18-year-old might..
That was my first lesson in Japanese vehicles and I should have stuck with it.
It would have saved me a lot of money over the years.

It is amazing if you go to work and do your work that most management just leaves you alone! That is what I did and only needed help once from new management, he was trying to be the tough guy. They let him go 10 months later. LOL But I really like the pension.

On the topic of American companies, I work for a very old and major American telco company..so American they outsourced most of our jobs to India and Asia....

I work a union job and our parking lot is filled with clapped out tacomas, 4 runners, and sh*tbox ricers no discrimination. You like what you like. As long as you make it to work its all good

De-badging some of the stuff is nice for a cleaner look, but they will still know what it is. Next time they give you shit tell them their wife really likes the back seat.

It’s the jokers that put nails in your sidewall or let the air out of your tires that suck. Some union jerks are so specific about the brands on the lot they will chip a windshield, key a car, or vandalize your vehicle if it’s not a recognizable American brand. I remember in 2011 someone had a Tesla roadster and people thought it was a foreign car, but, obviously Tesla is an American brand. Someone from the union flattened all four tires.

My opinion is this, if they aren’t going to vandalize your car, don’t pay attention to what they are saying. Eventually they will lose their jobs.

It took me 5 years being heckled before it stopped and they moved on. Funnier yet, the worst guy there was inherited a Subaru and drives it most days to work now. Lol.
