I’ve owned 3 Fords and they’ve never been good to me. I’m on my 3rd Toyota (2016, Tundra) and they’ve always lasted over 200k. I’m in a labor union, and get some shit for not driving a US car, even though my Tundra was built in Texas. Anyone else experience this? I’m considering removing all decals and emblems.

I believe the Toyota Tundra was the most built in America truck there was, according to a recent article. #10 vehicle over all.

I learned my lesson after my first Ford. Will never buy a Ford for as long as I live.

Truck looks slick without badges and decals IMO.

its really only a few old timers, and a few young cats following in their foot steps. I do like some of the new features Fords have to offer, and wish Toyota would catch up on those. But reliably is most important, and to be honest, Tundras and Tacomas look so good!

im not even going to go there. I understand it as old school mentality. I may even get a sticker that says “made in Texas”. To be real, most the parts of all vehicles made in US are imported.

Tundra engineered in American, made in America, gives Americans jobs, etc.

Ford/GM/Chrysler still owe Americans billions and billions of tax dollars and send their money overseas (and make an inferior product, not very American of them).

    Pretty simple :)

If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure Soros owns a controlling portion of Ford; last time I checked, I don't believe he is a supporter of Unions!

The F150 is union built in some parts. Not sure if all of them are. Lots of factories and jobs moving south of the border. I’m not interested in creating a political post. I just am thinking about removing the decals, and moding my Tundra.

For the decals, remember that removing them after this amount of time may end up with you having either a ghost image or possibly paint issues appear. So, I'd be cautious.

I complimented a Ford guy today on his bed cover and told him I'm waiting for a new tundra he said you like that and I told him that I had my truck for 3 years and got more money when I sold it then I payed and that was enough to shut him up ha

GM and Chrysler took “bailout” and Ford used smart words and took billions in a “loan” from your taxes. Guess how much of that loan they’ve paid back, are able to pay back, or ever will pay back? They took the same bailout just in a less honest way ha.

    Check the detailing section.

I used fishing wire and a little bit of goo gone. Never pull the emblem away from the surface just run the line parallel to the surface like you are flossing.

Use an eraser wheel to get any residue.

If you use a heat gun monitor the surrounding temps so you don't ruin your paint.

Did you end up with a “ghost print” of where everything used to be?

No. Forgot to mention clean the surrounding area well before using the wheel otherwise you turn it into a sanding wheel.

I wouldn’t let another union member pick my lunch…let alone my vehicle. I would be willing to bet the vast majority of your brothers and sisters support some non union company. How is getting rid of the badges going to help? It’s still a Toyota.

The thing that always got me was, "that was how I was taught". I put up with that crap for 16 years as a plumber. Working for an organized group creates a top-down thinking, if you want to continue employment. Now I don't mind being called a "Scab". Individualism on the decline is what we're facing now.
